I think something that is ironic is that the house is dead and is all broken down and the radio says that its is August 5 2026 over and over again. I think that that day was the day when this event happened and was a very bad day and the August 5 2026 was the day the house laid dead and the whole city now was no more and no one knew anything about it now since it was dead.

Something that's ironic that happened was that the house burned down to a pile of rubble. This was unexpected because earlier in the story the house survived a nuclear disaster which seems worst than a fire so, you wouldn't expect the house to burn down. Also, at the end the house started to repeat the date even though it was "dead".

The house continued on its day being remembered by the voice clock. This was ironic because it had already survived the nuclear disaster and we had expected it to survive the fire as well. After the fire had burned down, the voice clock said "Today is August 5, 2026, today is August 5, 2026, today is..." so even though the house burned down the voice clock continued to remind what the date was.
