as a citizen, i believe that we can play our part in reducing haze by reducing the use of cars. instead of taking our own car to work, why dont we use the public transport? car pooling would be another alternative in reducing the number of cars on the street. less cars being driven equal to less carbon monoxide, ozone and other harmful chemicals from being released into the air.

another way to reduce haze is by planting more trees. trees are earth's natural defence against air pollution. it is known that a tree have the mechanism to convert harmful chemicals in air and water into useable or degradable chemicals. this is known as phytoremediation process in bioremediation.

Without any doubt, i feel the same as other peoples do.....just sick of it - haze. It ruined our daily routine and effect the quality of life. When haze occur, our visibility are limited due to the light being blocked and there are no healthy air for breathing. Well, it's not new to us, nor too old to be discussed as it happen every year especially during the dry season as a result from irresponsible act from certain peoples around us .Most of cases reported that haze was contributed from such vast agricultural industries or deforestation via uncontrolled burning.

Let me go straight to the point, We can't simply blame the industry players who involved in this case but we should act smart. I believe there are procedures and rules they should followed in order to carry out their activities such as open burning in agriculture. Based from my own experiences, our local farmers still practicing this method in planting areas as it will help the soil to gain nutrients and of course the easiest yet cheapest way . The government also have introduced certain ways to limit this problems but not helping much.

In order to stop haze, everyone should taking their part. We must change the way we think and act. Government have a vital role to play by promoting better methods for farmers. This can be achieved through biotechnology , green technology and continuous researches because Malaysia is a country with large biodiversity to explore. Even the foreigners will come to our beloved country for continuing their study on floras and faunas. We should develop the solutions using our plants and trees in our forest. In facts, bamboos for instances is known for it's ability to absorbs greenhouse gases. Researchers have revealed It takes in CO2 and releases more O2 into our atmosphere other than hardwood trees. So, why do we need to pay mare for high-technology from US or Europe? Just start planting bamboos today, we could stop the hazy environment and even save the planet .

It's never too late as the quote goes "better late than never".

thank you.

Any open burning waste should be avoid as it will increase the haze in the air. Haze also may cause by any vehicle. A well maintained vehicle and choose fuel that have least polluting will help. or else just walk to any near by places that you wish to go or take any public transport.

Haze issues in Malaysia is one of serious issues that all citizens needs to pay extra attention. Nowadays, this problems frequently occurs in a place that have many vehicles and buildings instead of area with green environment. In my humble opinions, to solve this problems, all Malaysians need to have awareness about this problems. Haze problems is not a natural disaster. It is cause by human themselves. In order to solve this problems, people should stop open burning activity which can polluted the air. We also have to increase preservation forest instead of increase number of vehicles and building. Green environment are important to maintain air quality. The smoke from vehicles and open burning activity can polluted the air and cause haze.

I usually enjoyed my day by breathing a fresh air every morning, and one day I woke up and wandered, hey is it haze ?? All day long I was hoping for the rain to fall down and wash away the haze far away from me and never come back.

Haze everywhere, here and there ?! What is happening in Malaysia currently cause a troublesome to people out there. Our right to breath clean and fresh air is taken away. How can we be able to live in such dirty air? Smoke from the vehicles, open burning and etc.

Malaysians should take an extra initiatives in order to overcome this problem. Car pooling is such an example which helps to reduce the number of the vehicles on the road. Car pooling with friends or colleagues might save your budget on fuel, and you also can enjoy a nice and leisure chit chat-ing session with them in the car.

Other than that, Malaysians should reduce the usage of CFC. The sources of CFC come from freezer, air-conditioning and etc. It such an endless cycles - when we get hot, we simply switch on the air-conditioner, CFC is released to the surrounding and cause the ozone layer to be thin, allowed the UV light to penetrate and rise in temperature happen. We do nothing to solve this problem if the cycles keep going on.

Such simple measurements give us a good return. This land is not belong to us. We borrowed them from our future generation and the land must be return in its best state so that they could enjoy living like what we had before.

Most part of peninsular Malaysia recorded unhealthy air pollutant index (API). This situation make daily activities of an individual not "productive" as usual. This is because some of them are effected by this situation as they got sick. All citizen must take this issue seriously! As an individual opinion in order to reduce haze, people should stop doing open burning activity and the government should control vehicle emissions. Malaysia said the the haze is originated from Riau province, while the
Indonesian said that the haze came from Malaysia forest fire. They even
blame Malaysian companies that involved with Indonesian palm oil plantation industries.

Well, as a Malaysian, I always wonder why these haze occur regularly and why nothing is being done to prevent it. Most of the action taken only after the haze already occurred. To some Malaysian, haze poses no problem to them. However we have to look this problem in a bigger perspective. We have to close our school session, remain indoors, buy unnecessary disposable face mask, tourism related sectors is losing money, and so on. Imagine how many people are affected.

There's nothing much we can do about our neighboring country, but that doesn't mean we can't do anything about it. We should stop open burning, use public transport, plant more trees, recycle and use a recycle-able product, and last but not least, avoid wasting unnecessary usage of electric. This little-little thing will go a long way in helping our country in improving the air quality.

It can be observed that haze has been hovering over the Klang valley area. Shah Alam is one of the area that included. Based on my reading, the haze was actually fine particle polluted in the air. Those particle was unable to disperse to the environment due to the dry weather condition.

The cause of the air pollution comes from various human activities such as development, construction and vehicle fumes. Solving this problem will involves many parties.

As an individual, safety precaution such as wearing mask when going out and reduce outdoor activities can be considered.wearing mask helps to filter the we breath in.

As for the society, we should avoid open burning as it will increase more haze as the particle release from burning will be trap in the environment. Car pulling also can be considered as it will reduce vehicle fumes release to the air.

As for the government, they should try to find solution that helps to clean the air.

When we are talking about haze, mainly the haze issues in Malaysia comes from the open burning and also from the industrial companies that release smokes that contain small particle and dust. Haze is the main air pollutant that can cause irritation in sights and also for respiration. In 2014, Malaysia air pollutant index level have increase into a critical point that is above 100. When the API level is above the 100 mark, it shows the air is in an unhealthy condition and it can affect the activities in the environment. In my opinion, this haze can be overcome when our country can handle well the burning of plantation site and the burning of forest from companies or the government itself to gain profits for development of new sites. As we all know, burning down the forest is the cheapest and fastest way to clean a site. However, our neighbour country such as Indonesia should cooperate with Malaysia to handle this problem as there are to much of haze comes from them. Malaysia can't just sit down when haze come from other countries as it will affect the citizens itself.

In my opinion, haze is a particle that comes from air such as moisture, dust or smoke. The particles that causing the haze phenomenon become serious issue especially in Malaysia. One of the sources which is lead to the haze phenomenon comes from natural sources including forests and oceans. The human activities also lead to the haze problem in Malaysia. For examples open burning, deforestation and combustion of fossil fuels. The haze is measured by using index called Air Pollution Index (API). The higher the number of haze on air, the higher the risk of people who will get the effect to their health such as disturbance of breathing systems and excessive cough.

Therefore, some ways must be applied in order to reduce this problem. Everybody should alert and take initiative about this problem by playing their role. The government especially should charge for the person who do an open burning and deforestation. This is because, nowadays the open burning and deforestation by human activities can be said as one of the main causes of haze phenomenon in Malaysia. Individuals also can minimize the effect of haze to their body by drink plenty of waters and reduce the outdoor activities. Last but not least, "prevention is better than cure".

Many factors contribute to the haze problem
and lead to serious impact in our daily lives. One of these is from the release
of carbon monoxide gases into the environment from open burning, it is very
dangerous and can be fatal if inhaled in an extended period of time. The best
solution for this issue is by prohibition
of open burning.

In my point of view, to reduce haze we could reduce open burning since those will contribute more to haze pollution. Other that, bioremediation or the use of living things to solve environmental problems can also be use as it is natural substances and doe not cause side effects.

For me, Malaysia should take advantage by using solar energy as an alternative sources of energy. Solar power is produced by collecting sunlight and then it is converted into electricity. This can be done by using solar panels, which are large flat panels made up of many unit of solar cells. For example, we can make a solar vehicle like a solar car. So, there is no smoke release to the environment by the vehicles. Less smoke, less pollution, and less haze problem.

When I had travel on the way to my villages Perlis and Kedah I see fire brigade trying to stop fire on the burning areas. I also find out fire brigades driving around to check some areas that have the possibility on fire. North
sides of Malaysia right now are in the season of harvesting paddy which will
contribute to the haze formation. Smokes from burning of the paddy field cause an increase of harmful gas to be expose in the air such as carbon, sulfur and others. This will thin the ozone layer of the earth and changes the climate into a hot condition.

So as Malaysian, I think we should inform the fire fighters to be alert on the open burning so
they can take a quick action to stop the fire. Other than that, reduce some factory activity that produces smoke for their works.

What can I do also is
try to approach and remind others by posting in social network about haze
problem and how to reduce it.

People should avoid smoking because the cigarette smoke is one of the factor that contributing to haze problem. Other than that, carpooling is a great way to reduce the haze because air pollution could be controlled by reducing the number of vehicle on the road.

Haze in our country was mostly due to forest or peat fires at several states including Selangor, Perak, Pahang, Johor and Kedah.

it is not caused by trans-boundary haze as the Northeast Monsoon is still active where the wind flow pattern from the northeast. =)

Sharing a ride with our friends is a good idea to reduce haze, but it would be better if we could find vehicles that use four-stroke engines. Ever wonder what exactly is four-stroke engine? A discussion on haze with engineering students a few days ago really made me want to share this information in this site. To make it short, four-stroke is one of the engine types that are commonly used for automotive purposes. Another one is two-stroke engine which is a lot more powerful and gives higher speed, but also emit much larger amount of smoke to the environment which then contribute to haze. Superbikes and supercars are the most common application of two-stroke. So, when we want to buy a car or motorcycle, we should consider whether the car or motorcycle will contribute to the increasing number of Air Pollutant Index (API) readings or not. If we really want high-speed motorcycle, we can choose to use four-stroke motorcycle engines with large capacities instead of using the two-stroke engines.

The factors that causes haze is mostly come from the human activities. One of the factors is caused by the smoke from vehicles. Vehicles release many type of pollutants from the combustion of fossil fuels to the air such as carbon monoxide and sulfur dioxide. These pollutants would affect the air quality and it can risk human health especially the respiratory organ. Some effort should be done in order to lower down the haze index. One of the ways is by reducing the usage of vehicles on road. Thus, people is encourage to practicing car pooling or using public transport to go to work in order to reduce the number of vehicles on the road and reduce the emission of pollutant to the atmosphere. I think that this is one of the ways that can help in reducing the haze condition that we are facing now.
