Because it reduces the amount of oil present in the ocean over a longer period and it reduce the amount of chemicals which is damaging for the environment.  This is a more reliable method of clear up for an oil business. However it costs a lot more to do as it involves more elements instead of using a chemical.

One of the most impacted communities as a result of the Deepwater Oil spill would be that of "local fishermen"; the localities of such affects were however broad, spanning from the coastline of Louisiana to Alabama and Florida. 

In Louisiana, the number of juvenile bluefin tuna was reduced in volume by 20%, resulting in smaller fishing yields for businesses; also, for those that did manage to find fish, there were further issues related to oil contamination which would prohibit the fish from being available for human consumption.
