The teacher's defined differentiation , then added the words to a chart. We did the same thing twice. Basically the presenter facilitated and we did the work.

This was a pointless workshop. We have already received AIG certification that had an entire class devoted to differentiation. There were several of us that attended the NCGAT conference in Winston-Salem where the key note speaker was Joe Runzulli. Many of the presenters were well known in the field of Gifted Education and many of the workshops offered covered differentiation. No one has asked for our input. This PD should have been aimed at those teachers that ask or require help in that area. Furthermore, the information covered was very basic and I don't see that it would have been beneficial to any teachers that truly needed the assistance.

This workshop was completely pointless and unnecessary for already certified staff. We were required to get our certification---which means we have just completed coursework in this information. This workshop should be more for teachers who are not certified and have had no coursework. The presenter was very enthusiastic, but did not provide any information at all. He simply drew on what the audience members added. Also, teachers were given a very late notice about the meeting. Some already had other things planned, other meetings, and tutoring scheduled that had to be changed.

This was a waste of time. We already have taken differentiation courses for certification and from the curriculum coaches. We spent an hour and a half defining a term that we do in class every day, whether or not we realize it. Please give me something new or leave me with my students.

Feedback from teachers is being requested at the same time the next meeting has already been announced. Will the feedback be used before the next session is planned?

We are past this point. It would be nice to know what the purpose of this meeting was. The presenter made it sound like he would be back and that there was more to share. I would like to know what the future PD will be like. What will he be covering? I, as well as others would like to have some input as to what is presented next.

Presenter was friendly and engaging, but the overall concept of PD was designed for someone who is new to differentiation.

It appears that another session has been scheduled without getting feedback from staff and without truly knowing the strengths and weaknesses of the teachers who serve the AIG population. DIFFERENTIATE our professional development too!

The meeting did not include staff members who have not been certified and who may need additional training in that area. This is a shame since we have attended at least four additional classes in which one was specifically geared toward differentiation. Spend the time and resources on the staff that may need it. Money has been spent on many of us who were required or may have chosen to attend the AIG certification classes….yet, we still have to be “trained”. If this session was the building block of more to come then please communicate that to us. For our students to grow we must grow as teachers too. Share the agenda with us. What’s the plan? How will the other sessions play out?
