         <description><![CDATA[<div>In this video it shows the reaction between Limestone and Hydrochloric Acid. In this video the Hydrochloric Acid is dropped onto the Limestone, which then causes the Limestone to release Carbon Dioxide and fizz. The reason this is happening is because Limestone is primarily made up of calcium carbonate. Since this substance is carbonated it is unstable against Hydrochloric Acid. The Limestone will then break down and dissolve. But this substance is also fizzing, this is happening because the Hydrochloric acid is breaking the bonds in the Limestone. This then allows Carbon Dioxide to escape and causes it the effervesce. This shows a chemical reaction because a new substance was formed from the two substances combining. A chemical reaction only happens if a new substance if formed and in this case Carbon dioxide and Calcium Chloride were formed.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>When an apple is exposed to oxygen it allows a process called oxidation to occur. Oxidation occurs in the apple because the apples cell is exposed to oxygen. This causes the Polyphenol Oxidase enzymes to rapidly oxidize. This then causes the phenolic compounds, that are naturally found in apples, to change into o-quinones. The o-quinones then produces the brown color that we see on the apple by reacting with amino acids to create polymers. This shows a chemical reaction because the color of the original substance (apple) has changed from its natural color. The natural state of the apple has changed.</div>]]></description>

The substance inside the hand warmers is a heterogeneous mixture which is usually made up of iron powder, salt, and activated carbon. It also consists of some sort of absorbent material, which is used to absorb the moisture that is coming off your hands. </div>]]></description>
