A good tip is to use Google scholar first and get the exact title. Otherwise, some searches do not yield the results we need.

 

 

 

Here are some tips for using ProQuest:

 

 

 

Click on the tab ‘Library’ 

 

 

 

Click ‘Databases’ on the right hand side. 

 

 

 

Then you'll be asked to log in again to agree with conditions of use (use your standard login details).

 

 

 

Click on ProQuest

 

 

 

Make sure you have the ‘Advanced’ tab open. 

 

 

 

Type in your key term(s) (e.g. hidden curriculum ). 

 

 

 

Click on the drop down menu arrow for date range.  

 

 

 

Select after this date. On the right hand side of after this date, type in 01/01/2010 (because you don’t really want articles that are more than 10 years old – the newer the better). 

 

 

 

Click in the box ‘Limit results to scholarly journals, including peer reviewed. 

 

 

 

Click the green search button.

Choose one of the articles.

 

 

 

Below the entry you will see ‘References’. If you click on this link it will show you the references used in this article and any references which you can click onto find the original article.
