From sky to earth, they come and go,
A quiet reminder of nature's flow.
Raindrops fall, soft and sweet,
In every place, they find their beat.

Raindrops hit the water, splashing wide,
On the grass, they glide, like they can't hide.
On concrete, they tap and race,
And on the leaves, they find their place.

The world in harmony, wet and free,
A melody of rain, a song to be.

On the leaves, they gently cling,
A fleeting moment, a beautiful thing.

Rain falls softly, all around,
A quiet peace without a sound.
On water, trees, and streets so wide,
The rain is here, and we're alive.

I became more in tune with nature as a result of the experience, which enabled me to pay attention to even the smallest sounds around me. I was totally focused on the environment.

The recent experience reminded me of a college excursion where we ventured through a forested area. During this outing, one of our professors instructed us to sit on the ground in a safe manner, encouraging us to connect with nature by closing our eyes and assuming a meditative posture. Initially perplexed by this directive, we soon learned that shutting our eyes would heighten our other senses, allowing us to truly immerse ourselves in the natural surroundings. As we focused our attention, a symphony of sounds enveloped us - the gentle rustling of leaves, the playful chatter of monkeys swinging from tree to tree, and the harmonious melodies created by various bird species. This exercise served as a powerful reminder of the importance of mindfulness and the close relationship we have with the environment.

My artefact is inspired by the various sounds of nature that I often hear in my backyard. From the soothing chirping of crickets at night to the melodic songs of birds in the early morning, I find myself captivated by these sounds, whether it be the in the stillness of the night or the tranquil moments of dawn, which beautifully resonates with Miriam-Rose Ungunmerr concept of Dadirri, which involves the practice of deep listening, being quiet, and being still. These natural symphonies serve as a source of inspiration and tranquility for me.

For my creative experience, I decided to write and perform a poem inspired by the beauty of rain. I wanted to capture the essence of rain through my words and actions. To bring my vision to life, I used water as a prop, and to my surprise, my daughter eagerly joined in. It was a unique experience for me, as I typically wouldn't be playing with water in cold weather, but the connection I felt to rain and its ability to evoke feelings of joy and vitality was undeniable.

As I recited my poem, I focused on embodying the sounds and movements of rain, allowing my daughter to witness my creative process. Intrigued by what she saw, she took hold of the hose and began creating her own rain, adding an unexpected element to our collaboration. This moment reminded me of Wilson's (2007) assertion that children are curious, observant, imaginative, intense, sensitive and highly competent, all of which were on full display during our shared artistic endeavour.

In my future work in early childhood settings, I plan to promote outdoor play to connect children with nature. When summer rain begins to fall, I will encourage children to embrace the joy of dancing in the rain, a simple pleasure from our own childhoods.

To enhance the dramatic experience of rain, I will introduce various intensities of rainfall, from a gentle drizzle to a heavy downpour. We can simulate the sound of thunder with drums and the whooshing of wind with sticks . Additionally, incorporating leaves for the rustling of trees will further immerse children in the natural elements.
