He died on February 21st,1965 in NYC he was assassinated. Growing up Malcolm was in and out of foster homes/relatives homes after the passing of his father and his mother's hospitalization. Malcolm participated in many illegal acts eventually leading him to be sentenced 10 years in prison in 1946 for larceny and breaking and entering. During his time in prison he joined the  "Nation Of Islam" which is where the origin of "Malcolm X" came from. He spoke against integration and promoted black nationalism which is a belief in separate identity and racial unity of the African American community but sooner seen how peacefully Muslims of all races are peaceful together he changed his views on integration and began to work towards a more unified movement. The events of this movement consisted of riots, lynching's , bombings, public speeches, protests, marches,(Selma march) and police attacks. MLK was also giving  and protesting for the rights of blacks. Civil rights activist Rosa Parks started the bus boycott after she was thrown in jail for not giving up her seat to a white man in the front of the bus and refused to move to the back with the rest of the blacks. President JFK was assassinated, MLK was assassinated ,Robert Kennedy, was assassinated and so was Malcolm during this movement.  Foreign and Domestic policies for Malcolm would be to accuse him  of being a controversial figure who preaches racism and violence. It's purpose was to focus on the high population of blacks in Harlem and to unify all blacks regardless of religious backgrounds, social class, or political views.

Officers mistook him and a group of Muslims removing clothes from a car outside a Los Angeles mosque for criminals leaving a total of seven Muslims shot, one killed, and one paralyzed from a bullet wound in the back. Stroke's death motivated Malcolm to protest police brutality. It opened up Malcolm eyes as to what was going on in the world and made him realize it's time for a change especially for the black community. Malcolm x is viewed as a very important historical figure he paved the way for African Americans he's a hero in peoples eyes today more than in peoples eyes back then. Police brutality is more of the prominent issue along with racism today this movement has changed by there being more protests and people actually doing jail time for their prejudiced crimes.
