3 minute soundtrack attempting to depict the story of an RSPCA rescue story. https://www.rspca.org.uk/-/news-cat-stuck-up-tree

Script (Example of a possible News Report):
On Sunday February 21st in Wayne Tarbard Close, Ripon, Jane Doe was heading out for her usual morning trip to the shops. While walking down the street by her house, she heard a crying meow in the distance. In between the strong blows of wind, Ms. Doe located the cries to a nearby tree in the park by her house. Although ‘cats are natural climbers and in a vast majority of cases are very capable of getting themselves down from a tree, this was a different circumstance. With its hind legs slipping in the high branches in result of the tree’s sways, the cat was in no position to be able to get itself down. With the wind howling and becoming very dangerous to the small animal, Ms. Doe called the North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service without hesitation. This poor little cat was frightened, and needed immediate help. People gathered at the sound of the fire engine coming down their housing lane. With cat cries and the crowd murmuring, the fireman extended their ladder by 20 meters, and climbed up to the trapped kitten. The only 8 month old kitten, known as Loki, was then reunited with its owners straight away.

Introduction to the Vox Pop:
These past two years, fashion and individual style has had a major glow up across the world. Maybe it was the height of pandemic lockdown boredom that did it, or humanities new mindset of just doing whatever the ‘f’ it wants. Either way, everyone has STEPPED up their fashion game. No one was playing when it came to dressing up for halloween. It was almost as if there was a mutual agreement that if you didn't go hard on the costumes, you might as well have stayed home. We went around and asked members of our uni community what the best halloween costume they saw this year was. Let’s see what they had to say!
Outro to the Vox Pop:
Wowza! Those were some sick af costumes and maybe even some costumes ideas for your Halloween next year. Stay spooky and stay stylish!

Student discounts possibly incentivise students to spend frivolously, especially fast fashion companies such as Asos, Zara, New Look and so on. We want to investigate whether this is true, and if issues surrounding sustainability ever reach a critical status, will they point the finger at students? Trendy, sustainable clothing brands can be overpriced and are potentially causing a surge in the mass production of cheaper but less sustainable alternatives to compensate for those that can’t/don’t want to spend as much money on clothing. We want to figure out if students value price over sustainability or the complete opposite.

When hearing the word ‘sustainability’, we have found that UAL students think of being eco-friendly, recycling, reusing, climate change, reusable tote bags, up-cycling, and vintage items. They have informed us that they try to live up to these synonyms by being vegetarian, walking when they can, charity shop shopping, Depop shopping, using reusable tote bags, recycling, not buying fast-fashion, turning off the lights, using less water/turning off the taps, not using plastic bags, eating more sustainably, and thrifting. From this market research, we can see that UAL students do try to make an effort to be sustainable. However, these efforts stem from what we have been taught our whole lives: ‘reduce, reuse, recycle’. Although these issues are well known, they do not necessarily relate to the current climate change contributors that are increasing global unsustainability. 92.3 percent of the responses we received said that they sometimes or always use the student discount option if there is one. We need to inform this generation that bargain shopping and getting more bang for your bucks using student discounts maybe a win for you, but it’s a possible future loss for humanity. From our research, we have found that the UAL students that like podcasts enjoy storytime podcasts the most. 75 percent of responders have said that they don’t prefer to listen to podcasts that talk about current issues. Knowing that a majority of UAL students dislike current event podcasts, but storytime podcasts are the most preferred genre, we aim to create a storytime podcast that attempts to tackle and dive into the possible negative impacts of student discounts on sustainability.

We focus on a different movie or TV show each episode and tie the plot and clothing garments used to break down sustainable fashion stereotypes, develop understanding, and elicit a new positive viewpoint of shopping sustainably while discovering your fashion identity. Each episode is approached as a casual conversation between friends, using the current popularity of the ‘Y2K’ aesthetic. Like a 2000s movie four way call, we discuss fast fashion and sustainability in a way that is inspiring and not forceful. Each episode includes special call in guests to add to the conversation and expand the conversation. Whether its vintage store owners, or individuals who have made a living from the lifestyle, we aim to promote sustainable fashion in a positive light.

From the research, we have found also that the UAL students that like podcasts enjoy storytime podcasts the most and that 75 percent of responders have said that they don’t prefer to listen to podcasts that talk about current issues. Knowing that a majority of UAL students dislike current event podcasts, but storytime podcasts are the most preferred genre, we aim to create a storytime podcast that attempts to tackle and dive into the positive impact vintage shopping can have, not only on the environment but developing your own sense of style. This will be accomplished by approaching this 'current event' topic in a laid back and enjoyable way through nostalgic Y2K connections.
