Netball
When in a netball game, communication is key during the game and after each quarter, to make sure the game is successful. Within the game you will communicate when passing the ball down the court. Then after each quarter you will discuss with your teammates any tactics or flaws and how to improve them. I think I am good at commutation as I am very vocal and want everything to be fair.
I think I could improve is tactics after each quarter.

Work
Whilst at work i have to communicate when taking customers orders. It is important that i communicate well with the customers being friendly and polite, whilst getting there orders right. i think i could improve in my confidence by taking more orders.

Dance teacher
When im teaching dance to the younger students, communication is key to describe how the moves are completed. Also when counting the dance students into a sequence you state 5-6-7-8, this is to get them in time with the music and starting at the same time. To improve i would be use different communication techniques such as verbal and visual.

We used a MTA kit in teams of 6 to build different objects. Our first object was wheelbarrow, ours was very successful and we won the challenge. The second item was a chair which unfortunately collapsed half way through building it but we worked hard as a team to rebuild, however we lost that round. The final round was a little hut that had to fit a person in. I was nominated the person to sit inside but again we lost 😭.
We worked as a team by listening to others ideas and planning before going all in.
Next time we need to get everyone involved and give everyone a job to do.

Last Tuesday at we were doing a team drill. It had two sides but they had to coordinate. To do this we had to communicate with each other and if we didn’t and someone dropped the ball or we were out of time our coach made us sprint two laps of the court. At first our communication wasn’t very well and the ball kept getting dropped. People were setting off without watching out for the others causing confusion between others, after being made to sprint a few times we were all tired and annoyed but that gave us motivation. We started communicating better and managed to complete the drill properly.

We have a dance show coming up and me and my friend Elise have been put in charge of choreographing some dances. We have worked in a team to pick the music and choreographed the dances. At some points we run out of ideas and due to having a short timeframe we come to a dead end, but we all use each others motivation and complete the task, to deliver to the younger children.

Ran a dance workshop

On Friday 2 February, I ran a dance workshop at Kirkbalk. I lead a warm and choreographed a dance to teach the children. I taught them it in sections, let them practice it in groups and the at the end they choreographed there own part to add on.

On Wesdnesday 28th February I helped out with a playground leader event ran by horizon at the metrodome. I helped run activities that they can teach their friends back at school and helped them learn the values of being a good friend.

I bring a flask with water in to college to make sure I’m not buying water bottles in plastic. This means that they’re will be less plastic to be recycled as some of it can’t be and gets let into the ocean, killing sea creatures.

I use the bus to get to college as it’s more sustainable for the environment. If more people use public transport then they’re will be less cars on the road meaning there will be less carbon emission in the atmosphere.

I use my iPad to edit documents instead of printing them off to fill them in. this mean I’m using less paper which is more sustainable for the environment as less trees will be cut down. if less trees are cut down them they’re will be less CO2 as trees breath it in for photosynthesis

Sport has played a major part in my life so far. I found my love and appreciation for the theory of sport, during GCSE PE studies and chose to continue this interest at college, studying sports science. It is with great enthusiasm that I have chosen to pursue a degree in sports science, to combine my love for sport and my interest in the science behind it.What excites me about sports science, is the opportunity to understand the relationship between the body and physical performance. Having danced from a young age and later finding a love for netball, understanding what actually happens to the body whilst taking part in these sports has deepened my enjoyment for them. I am eager to delve deeper into the topics such as psychology, anatomy, biomechanics and sports nutrition to ultimately fulfil a career in the sport science field.

As a keen dancer, l have trained in RAD ballet, ISTD tap, modern, and contemporary as well as acrobatic arts, commercial and jazz achieving the top grades in advanced level exams which are equivalent to GCSES and A levels. I have performed at many great venues such as Her Majesty’s Theatre in London, Alton Towers, Blackpool Tower Ballroom, Birmingham Hippodrome and many professional shows in my local area. I have competed in dance festivals and the UK Dance Championships often winning medals and I have assisted and taught classes at my dance school in recent years.

For my work experience I have been volunteering at a local high school- Horizon Community College, learning many values which I will take into later employment. In this role I have assisted in PE classes and after school sports clubs, taught dance workshops and helped out with sporting events. I am passionate about providing children with these opportunities, as many would not have the opportunity to be involved in sport otherwise. In August 2024, I was one of two candidates from Horizon Community College to be selected to take part in a fully funded Leadership programme. This was a residential course, where I took part in outdoor activities, team building and leadership skill challenges. During the Summer of 2024, I volunteered to help at a School Games event at Loughborough University assisting in the running of the netball competitions.

During high school I was a school prefect. This taught me many skills- communication, teamwork, organisation and confidence which I believe are critical for future employment. It gave me the opportunity to speak in assemblies and present new ideas to the school board, volunteer in the local community and to be a good role model for my peers. In Y9, I was selected to train to be a mental health ambassador for my year group. This gave me the training to be able to recognise and help anyone that may be struggling with their mental health. I also completed my Anti-bullying training and The Princess Diana’s Mental Health Awareness award. In Y10, l completed my Bronze Duke of Edinburgh award which helped me to become a resilient and confident individual.Throughout high school, I was a member of the school's netball team, competing regularly against other schools in our local area. In my last year of high school, I helped out in the younger years' netball club. This improved my confidence in umpiring and I aspire to complete this qualification at a later date. After leaving high school, l went to the NCS summer camp. This was a weeks residential taking part in outdoor activities and challenges learning valuable life skills.I have recently completed the Royal Life Saving Society UK qualification to become a lifeguard. This was an intensive week's course, in which I completed my first aid training and learnt the rescue skills essential to be a lifeguard. I now work regularly at a local leisure centre.

To conclude, I am passionate about continuing my studies in sports science and look forward to fully embracing my university studies with determination and commitment.
