         <description><![CDATA[<div>I must admit, I've never really put much thought into data. Obviously, we all see data represented in every day life, but I don't generally think too deeply about what it means. I'm keen to see how this unit might change the way I approach and understand data.&nbsp;<br><br>I'm still feeling a little unsure about this unit, as it is completely different from previous units I have done, however, I'm going in with an open mind, and can already see that I will learn a lot throughout the semester.</div>]]></description>

I believe it will be a challenge to recognise what data is valuable and meaningful to collect, but I am hopeful that I will gain some knowledge in this area by the end of the unit.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I am personally very passionate about evidence based practice and relying on data sets to implement meaningful changes in the classroom to improve the learning outcomes of students.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>With that being said I personally feel many of the national level data sets to be lacking. For example; the turnaround for national level data collections such as NAPLAN doesn’t allow educators to implement meaningful changes in a timely manner. Although a student may have been struggling with spelling on the day of the test, their results coming through 6-12 months later, inhibits meaningful changes to be implemented to improve learning at an individual level. Some other factors involved in this include student’s attention and mood on that particular day, the facilitation of the test and so on.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>For this reason, I believe teaching teams within schools, ought to approach the use of data to improve learning at a more micro level and utilise NAPLAN for more macro level approaches to educational outcomes.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I think this unit will explore how data is used to determine learning and how teachers can utilise it to improve student development in the classroom.<br>I am hoping to learn specific strategies to assist with data collection, interpretation and implementation. I believe implementing effective practices using data may be the most challenging thing to do. Despite this, I believe it can be a useful tool to assist students in progressing through their schooling. The readings provided substantial evidence to support this idea.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I think this unit will be about how data is used to improve practice and student performance. i am hoping to learn how to correctly build a data display and how to use tools to develop this display the best way I can.&nbsp;<br>I believe ill be challenged by the load of this class along with teachers as professionals as I've heard they're both pretty full on.&nbsp;<br>Yes data is important because if we dont have it or use it we have no idea where our students are and what they require to improve. </div>]]></description>

         <title>This unit seems to be about data collection, analyse and usage. I&#39;d like to learn approaches to those areas. Perhaps the storytelling of the data will prove difficult as it appears (at least to me early on) to be a skilled art. Data is an important tool in the teachers arsenal as it provides feedback and allows us to better know our students if interpreted correctly.</title>

At times during this degree and teaching pracs we are inundated with data and little knowledge and practicce on what to do with it. in the classroom there is so much information being thrown back at the teacher that it will be nice to be given tools to catorgarise, analyse, and capitalise on the data being thrown at us.</div>]]></description>
