I vowed that i would never go to the 'torturers workshop 'again.

Obviously the sand is sticking to my teeth like glue on one’s fingers, so I am now swishing my tongue around my mouth, trying to ‘detach’ every grain of ‘sand’ clinging onto my teeth. That is not definitely not working. This is only one of the many reasons why I hate the dentist. Well, my friend, the trip to the dentist, like always, was horrible. When I stepped into the dental clinc, a whiff of medicine mixed with toothpaste and water pushed into my nostrils, and i almost keeled over to vomit. That is reason number two I hate the dentist. Then when I sat on the chair, and the dentist started checking my teeth, she used a metal tool with a mirror at the end. It felt like instead of a mirror, it was an ice cube at the end. Everytime it touched my teeth, a shudder skittered down my spine. She continued checking my teeth while I was visibly shaking. Then she told me she was going to clean my teeth. The word ‘Clean’ sounds so gentle and harmless. Well, it was the total opposite. The dentist took yet another tool, but now it’s end was a circular toothbrush that could spin. She attached a small cube of something that looked like icing but tasted nothing like that. She dug the tool into my mouth, swishing it around every tooth while it spun and splattered bits and pieces of the ‘icing’ everywhere, turning the ‘icing’ into ‘sand’. It tasted so bad that my tastebuds wanted to resign. I tried my very hardest to keep my face straight, but I think I failed to do so. Halfway through the cleaning, the dentist took one look at my face and put away the tool. My face was probably scrunched up; my eyebrows knitted together with my eyes shut tightly. I wanted to scream at the taste of the ‘sand’ but I somehow couldn’t, so my mouth was pulled back in a strangled scream. Despite that, the dentist continued the cleaning till she saw my face. She then asked me to gargle a cup of water which also seemed harmless but tasted like seawater; salty and dirty. From then on, I decided that when going to the dentist, whenever I hear the word ‘cleaning’, think of the total opposite from the sound of the word; think of words like unpleasant and disgusting. Whenever hearing the word ‘water’, expect saltwater. So my friend, I hope your dentist visit will be better than mine. Funny thing is, that was kind of what happened. 

The dentist was drilling and drilling for almost an eternity. Tears were threatening to rush down my cheeks, as I just laid on the dentist chair helpless. 

I knew I could not do anything. If I did try to speak up to the dentist on how the effects of numbing cream were slowly wearing off, I would have probably made the dentist mess up halfway, and my gums would have a giant, bloody, gash across them. 

 I was as afraid as a cowardly lion, and just stayed there, hoping it would be over soon. I just stared at the clock that was hung on the wall that was as red as freshly picked apples, and waited. To me, the hands of the clock were moving in slow motion. Every second really did feel like hours to me. When the time finally came, the dentist let me go. 

I would ever never return to that dentist, even if my teeth turns into a dark cave for cavities.
