-Different cliques

• need more time / opportunities to develop a sense of unity and belonging.

• Too many morning activities during FT time.

• Students tend to be more reserved and hesitant to step up to contribute.

2) Classroom cleanliness

• no sense of ownership because they use different venues for lessons.

3) Inappropriate use of PLDs

• During lessons, in between lessons, all the time.

2) Class response to these loudhailers can be very unfriendly

3) Still very immature, refusal to follow instructions based on their mood/emotion

-Empower the class comm to give instructions and lead in classroom activities / events.

-Appoint others who are not in class comm as ICs for certain activities / events -> a platform to showcase their leadership skills.

• to disemminate information ( no need class chats)

• take care of various activities (e.g. VIA)

2) Close partnership with parents

• regular communication with parents (both the good and bad)

  
  

3)Create opportunities for them have their voices heard.

• VIA activities - they choose what to do, they do the research, decide how to distribute the work

-Constant reminders.

E.g. Too much fried food in the canteen.

2) opportunities for class bonding outside of the official events / CCE lessons / VIA activities/ Annoucments.

• E.g. Birthday celebrations

• E.g. Sharing about career aspirations etc.

Class room physical condition - Shared classroom. Lack of shared responsibility.

Insufficient time to conduct admin - 30 mins CCE not enough and morning interaction time a bit too limited.

Giving more responsibilities to the students, aside from the class committee, to identify potential leaders.

2) Restorative practice to help students to learn perspective taking as well ways to solve disagreements in the right way.

3) working with class committee to effect changes on the ground and from the inside. Removes the idea that discipline is the teachers responsibility but the students' responsibility.

How do we as FTs reach out to these diverse personalities who each have their own issues eg home life, parental expectations? We tread carefully between uplifting them and putting them down in our language use.
