1930s - HP is founded.

HP was founded in a garage in California. They created audio equipment, which Disney used to test out sound for the movie "Fantasia".

1940s - Z3 computer is finished.

The Z3, from Konrad Zuse, was made in complete isolation. It was used for aerodynamic calculations. Zuse supervised the reconstruction in the 1960s.

1950s - IBM 650 calculator introduced.

IBM introduces this as its first mass produced computer, and the company sold 450 in one year. It's magnetic storage drum has faster access to stored information. It was highly popular in universities, where students learned coding for the first time.

1960s - CDC 6600 supercomputer introduced

The CDC 6600 preforms up to 3 million instructions per second, and that makes it three times faster than it's competitor, the IBM 7030 supercomputer. It uses 10 smaller computers, called peripheral processing units, to offload the work from the central proccessor.

1970s - TRS releases the TRS - 80.

This computer was much better than TRS' first release, selling 10,000 units. It included a Z80 microprocessor, a video display, and 4KB of memory.

1980s - The Sinclair ZX80 introduced.

1990s - RISC PC is released.
