One similarity between these stories are that they both have lost important things and have to earn them back. For example she lost her hair and had to get it back and then Beowulf wanted to earn pride from his king so he fought Grendel.

Both of these stories are very similar in the fact that they are entirely made up but each character has some flaw. Belinda's flaw was her selfishness and her vanity over her simple lock of hair. Beowulf's flaw was he was too prideful and he should have never gone up against that dragon but since he wanted to prove himself he decided that dying was better than not trying to slay the dragon.
