Meaningful jobs Questions

I love the framework with the 8 criteria/building blocks to support the MN-concept. It makes it much more tangible. How are you actually training the frontline based on this frameworks, because a lot of topics are not fully covered in the SKAP capability descriptions?

Do you also measure the performance of each individual/team vs. the 8 MN criteria? If yes…how?

In the presentation GEMBA comes often back. Do you have a defined framework to train the leaders how they need to approach the operators when they go to the shopfloor and what questions they need to ask?

I love the concept and the way the MJ’s are explained, it all makes a lot of sense and what we as leaders should be doing. How do you (Or the front line team) maintain this enthusiasm and sense of purpose as a lot of frontline people remain in these jobs for many years?

I fully agree that leaders play a fundamental role in ensuring that the MJ criteria lands in the right place day in and day out … how have you made this part of the leaders routines in plants or lines that are not running well? (When things are not going the way they supposed too we seem to be a lot more busy and I get the sense these good things do not get the time they need to maintain the momentum)

In NAZ, we struggle with rolling a lot of new tools/initiatives to the teams then changing them the next year. It becomes difficult to get team acceptance of the tools for longevity. With all the initiatives we roll out to the teams, was there hesitation at first until the teams realized it was not a “fad”? How long did it take to get leadership & front line alignment?

Would be interesting in learning more about Leadership evaluation/ leadership diamond? How frequently are the Team-on-1 meeting occurring?

The curriculum for the line managers/leadership, what does that look like? Specifically with the constructive conversations & conflict management training. As we continue to develop our front line leaders, these topics would be pertinent to growth.

I thought the quote around principle #3, “We as leaders will never provide empowerment. The truth is that the empowerment is earned in the daily work by each of the workers,” was very interesting and eye-opening. Can you discuss this a little more around the philosophy & how it was applied on the shop floor.
