1. I think that the overall meaning of the truce was not a time to fight about which side is better or who will win, but instead focus on enjoying this temporary break and being grateful that in this horrible period of time they're still alive.
2. I believe that they were annoyed and upset and felt very disappointed probably and wanted to just go out there with them.
3. I think that the most important aspect between soldiers and their commanders is trust, trust that they will know what's the right thing to do and when, and this truce could either have improved the relationship if the commanders let them have a break, or possibly ruined it if the soldiers were asked to break the truce.

1. The truce signifies a reminder that they are all still human. Even though they disagree on certain problems, they still are in the end human. The truce also gives them a reason to celebrate on who is still alive and honor the people that died.
2. Their reaction symbolizes the reasons they decided and were brought to fight in the first place. They realize again what they are fighting for and what they stand for and what they believe in.
3. The officers also may have lost a small amount of respect and trust for the soldiers, because since they were having a good time they were also sad that they had to go back to the way

1. I think the meaning of the christmas truce is that they are all humans. I think this showed they actually weren't fighting and killing the other side because they hated them, or really wanted to kill them, but they were fighting for their country. And when the opportunity came to take a break and socialize with the other side, they wanted to.
2. I think when the soldiers had to stop the truce they were obviously upset. But they had to have known the truce would end after christmas was over. So I think they were upset but they knew they had to go back to war for their country, but they had a little hope that maybe the truce would stay forever.
3.I think that the relationship is like a kid to a parent. They could have fun for a while, but the officer had to stop it at one point, because they couldn't be in the truce forever.
4.German: we love christmas time
we just want the war to end
celebrate with us
british: christmas is special
lets celebrate with germans
dont open fire

1.) I think the overall meaning of the Christmas truce was to show that even though you're scared, to try to relax and take a break and to not worry about the war.

2.) I think the soldiers were a little frustrated and angry that they had to terminate the truce because they were uncomfortable, couldn't sleep, and seeing their friends die in front of them.

3.) The relationship between the officers and soldiers should have trust in each other. Since officers have so much control over the soldiers, I feel that they wouldn't become friends but at least a healthy relationship. I think the Christmas truce affected their relationship a lot.

4.)

1.) I think the Christmas Truce symbolizes how soldiers, who were originally willing to kill each other, could establish peace and happiness for a series of days. If enemy soldiers who wanted to kill one another had the ability to put aside their differences, why couldn't the rest of the world?
2.) I think the soldiers would've been very upset to abandon the truce because it was the first positive thing that had happened in a very long time. They had been enjoying each other's company and liked the idea of war being forgotten. They didn't want to have that cheerful experience taken away.
3.) Most soldiers seem to respect their officers greatly, but when the officers basically said to forget about the happy times and go back to war, soldiers couldn't have been happy. It's interesting to see that type of conflict active on one side of the war.
4.)

1. Christmas is a time to come together and celabrate the holiday with friends am family, it's also a time for miracles. The christmas Truce did just that, both sides coming together to have fun. Both sides were miserable and the Christmas Truce brought some happiness into their lives. I mean that even though they are fighting they are still people.
2.The soldiers were probably very sad that they had to end their truce, most of them hated trench life and watched their friends die the Christmas Truce was the first time they had fun in a while.
3. Officers are in charge of soldiers and are most likely not their friends. Even before the Christmas Truce there was already some tension between the two because soldiers didn't like going overtop of the trenches so they didn't really like the officers for making them do that. When the officers ended the christmas truce it made the soldiers even more mad.
4.

1. This shows that people's natures are not to have war but to socialize peacefully. It also shows the power of religion that Christmas was the only thing that could bring peace between the two forces.
2. I don't think the soldiers would have wanted to but I think they would have respected the order and got back in their respective side, after all, they were at war
3. I think the most important aspect is the soldiers respect for their superiors and think this was affected by the truce. The officers that did engage in the truce were probably more respected by their soldiers as it shows their more human side rather than serious and militaristic side.

1. I believe this truce means that the soldiers were putting aside fighting, and they were thinking about the rue meaning of Christmas which is God and family. It represented the peace on Christmas day, and how one should be thankful that they are the soldier that is alive.
2. When the soldiers were told to abandon the truce I think they were mad, it may have been because both sides had just experienced peace and now the have to go back to negativity.
3. I think the soldiers and officers faced some conflict when the officers told them to abandon the truce, and the respect was lost for the officers. The soldiers probably had trust in their officers that they would make the best decision for the soldiers.
4.

They didn't want to fight and have to kill people on a day that is normally joyful. They decided to put their differences aside for a day and come together.
2. When the soldiers where told to abandon the truce, I think that they complied to their superior's orders, but were upset. I think that they would have been sad and mad because they were enjoying themselves for once but quickly had to go back to reality.
3. I think the most important relationship aspect between the officers and soldiers is respect. I think that the Christmas Truce proved the officers had respect for their superiors, but also, they were upset with them.
4.

1. I think that the true meaning of the Christmas truce was to let the soldiers have a special day where they are not fighting or having to risk their lives. It was a time just for soldiers and men to have a good time and forget about all the negative things about the War.
2. I think that the soldiers were upset that they had to go back to risking their life and having that unknown feeling of not knowing when you were going to die. I feel like they were a bit confused because they were having so much fun for those two days, then to tell them they have to get back to hating each other and fighting left them confused.
3. I think that the soldiers have much respect and trust for their officers but when they had to stop their Christmas Truce, they became very spectacle of their officers.
4.
