A few years later it showed signs of rotting. Students are encouraged to walk from these points if they are being dropped off. This project was part of School Travel planning and was integrated into the curriculum. Each year it needs a rejuvenation. Staff go and walk once a month with the students and there are rewards for those who use the pou.

Their reading recovery teacher leads this group. Vegetables are grown for selling to the community and for cooking. They have made jams, soups and pickles.
