I want to let you know why I love baseball and what made me start to love this game. I was 8 years old and my father wanted me to play a sport. Little League was abut to start to he signed me up. My first year was about learning skills, how to hit a ball, catch a ball and then learned how to become a catcher. Learning to be a catcher was amazing to me, that is what made me fall deeply in love with the game. Having ADHD a lot of the other positions were boring to me I could not stay focused. Catching though I was involved in every play and was in a way a team leader. I learned to know what every player should do for every play. It is amazing the things you can do behind the plate: throw kids out that are trying to steal a base, tag kids out that are trying to score by coming to home plate, and mostly helping the pitcher decide what pitch to throw.

Once little league was over my father decided to sign me up for club ball. Club ball is a travel team that plays tournaments against other club ball teams and sometimes travels to other states. That is where I really learned to perfect my abilities behind the plate as a catcher. I was lucky enough that one of my coaches was actually a minor league catcher for the New York Yankees, so while he was home during the off season he would teach me stuff that he would use in the Pro’s. Then when his season would start my other coach, a college baseball catcher, would teach me stuff that they do in college when he came home. It really made me a much better catcher

because I didn’t just have some dad trying to teach me what they thought I should do, I had truly experienced guys teaching me the in’s and outs of the game,

Fast forward to the age of 11 almost 12 and I was sill playing club ball along with little league. That was an amazing year. I was able to go to Cooperstown with my Club ball team. My father and I drove cross country making some wonderful memories along the way. We were able to stay the night in Chicago and watch a Chicago Cubs game at Wrigley Field. Then from there we were
