         <description><![CDATA[<div>You can be diagnosed with type one diabetes due to two factors. For one, this can occur when your own immune system mistakenly destroys insulin producing cells in the pancreas. Type one diabetes can also occur in the body due to genetics and exposure to viruses.  Now, lets look into the process of what occurs after a type 1 diabetic eats carbohydrates.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Now, after the carbs have been metabolized into glucose, the body normally releases insulin to move this glucose out of the blood stream. This is done by signaling the liver and muscle and fat cells to take in glucose from the blood. However, this cannot occur in a type one diabetic, as they have complete lack of insulin. This is second on the timeline as insulin can only be activated (if present at all) if a carbohydrate heavy meal is metabolized into glucose. 3rd actioon.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>One can be more likely to contract diabetes due to genetics. If your family history consists of a a long line of diabetes your odds are not in your favor. Sometimes environment can also be a factor of contracting diabetes. Particularly cold weather has been associated with developing diabetes. Type 1 diabetes normally becomes apparent in childhood. The cause of diabetes stems from an issue in the pancreas. Often times defected pancreases can run in the family, similar to how families may have weaker eyes and need glasses.  </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Someone who has type 1 diabetes lacks a sufficient amount of insulin.  The importance of Insulin is large as our body needs it to create energy for vital functions and activities within our body. Without the ability to make enough energy someone with diabetes is left to turn to medicine such as taking injections of the hormone insulin. This shot will decrease the amount of glucose in your blood stream as too much can be harmful. Insulin is released to stimulate cell receptors to digest and break down the glucose in the blood stream. </div>]]></description>
