The use of Blogger played a key role throughout all the stages of my media work. Blogger allowed me to present my findings and work in a digital format to allow anyone to view the stages I went through when creating my main product and ancillary texts. As well as this blogger was also very effective as the media technology allowed me to get comments from peers where they could suggest changes I should make to my work to improve it so this added an element of interactivity. Additionally it supported the use of embedding which allowed me to embed many of my work on other external media technologies such as YouTube and Prezi, these all contributed to making my work look more visually appealing and showed that I have a wide range of knowledge with many media technologies.

Prezi is a presentation tool that can be used as an alternative to traditional slide making programs such as PowerPoint. Instead of slides, Prezi makes use of one large canvas that allows you to pan and zoom to various parts of the canvas. I enjoyed using Prezi as it showed how I wasn't limited to the software i can use to present my findings such as only using PowerPoint. Using this digital technology meant that my research was presented in a more visually appealing way. I mainly used this software in the research and planning stages as when I was gathering research and information that needed to be presented this technology was the most appropriate option.

Emaze is another presentation software like Prezi, I used this technology as well as the other as it was another way in which I could present my findings so was easy to present my research and as well as this it helped with the planning stages as I was able to compile my ideas for the texts I would be creating.

Again, I have used another online software when doing research and planning. I have used Venngage to create interesting info-graphic about one of my ideas. I wanted to make a good impression to my audience as well as use other resources to make my blog attractive and engaging. Venngage was an easy way to express certain idea in an innovate way.

Throughout the stages of research, planning and evaluation of my media texts YouTube played a big part. This is due to the fact that I used YouTube to present my findings, such as with the focus group that I held with my peers, to evaluate other real media texts to aid with making my texts. Additionally I used it to show my work such as the preliminary task and my first and final draft of my movie trailer. YouTube was an extremely useful media technology to use as it can be accessed by anyone and allowed me to present my work easily and it also allows functionality with Blogger's embed function so I was able to put the videos on my blog without having to send the user to the website with an external link.

As well as this in the planning stages I was also able to use YouTube to watch existing horror movie trailers so that I was able to compile my ideas of what features I liked and wanted to include in my product, YouTube made this very easy for me to do so it played an essential part throughout most stages of the course.

SurveyMonkey was another useful technology as it allowed me to gain feedback on my work and to also gain an idea with what my target audience wanted so it also helped in the planning stages. I was able to use SurveyMonkey to create my own survey to then embed onto my blog and get my peers to easily access it and then answer the questions. Overall this was an extremely useful media technology to use as it allowed me to get instant analytics of answers from my peers instead of having to ask them myself and getting overall feedback from this.

Adobe Premiere Elements

Adobe Premiere Elements is a video editing software published by Adobe Systems. It is a scaled-down version of Adobe Premiere Pro and is tailored to novice editors and consumers. I had never used this editing software before undertaking the media course so I had to learn how to use the software, but it was fairly easy to understand the basics as there were many tutorials available online to teach me the skills needed to use the software. I used Premiere Elements in the construction stage as it was what I used to build my movie trailer and played an essential part in this. I may have been able to use other editing software however this was what I had available to me and I might have not been able to create the same trailer with another software.

Sony Vegas is another editing software that I used but this was used in the evaluation stage of the course. When answering the first question of my evaluation I decided to present my evaluation in a digital form of a video where I added a commentary over the video. As I did this at home I had to use this editing software to create the video as I didn't have access to Adobe Premiere Elements however the benefit of using this software is that I already had experience with using it so was relatively easy to create the video.

Adobe Photoshop is the predominant photo editing and manipulation software on the market. Its uses range from full featured editing of large batches of photos to creating intricate digital paintings and drawings. Photoshop is a software that I have a large amount of experience with and I used this in the construction stages of the course as I used it to edit the images used to create my ancillary texts and without it I believe I wouldn't have been able to create the work at as high of a quality.

I used Adobe Indesign to create the magazine front cover for one of the ancillary texts. Adobe InDesign is a desktop publishing software application produced by Adobe Systems. It can be used to create works such as posters, flyers, brochures, magazines, newspapers, and books. It played a key role in the construction stage as it meant i could create my piece to a high level, where I don't believe I would have been able to create this with a software like Microsoft Publisher.
