One day my other was sitting in a bathtub reading the bible. This is when she was pregnant with my older sister, Alexis, who is two years older than me. As my mother was reading, she came across a scripture. The scripture talk about faith, hope and charity. My mother instantly became attached to the idea of having three girls with the names faith, hope and charity. Two years and three days after my sister Alexis was born, I was born along with my twin. My mother got her wish, and named her three girls faith, hope and charity. the picture above are objects in my house that has faith, hope and charity on it. I am very patient with those who are close to me and even to strangers. Being patience is another way I try to relax my mind. I grew up in Johns Creek, Georgia. Johns Creek, has a median home value of $372,000, a poverty rate of 4.9 percent, and 63 percent of people in the city have a bachelor’s degree, according to the study. I mention this because I consider where I grew up a privilege. My family is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. My parents and half siblings lived in a place that is filled with crime and a higher rate of poverty than Johns Creek, Georgia. The place I grew up is my privilege because unlike my family I didn't grow up worrying about the crime in my area. I didn't grow up with not enough food to fill me on plate. The picture attached is of one day my family accidentally leaving the garage door open all night. Since, we live in a nice area no one in our family was consider. I've grown up in a wealthy area. Also I am accustomed to a certain way of speaking and dressing. I was in the fifth grade and my parents took us to Florida for spring break. I was soo excited I couldn't wait, it was our first time to Disney. Also, my family rarely took vacations. I remember losing my excitement when we step out the car, because around the parking lot we were surrounded my white families. I felt out of place, and instantly became uncomfortable. The picture above is of my and my family at Disney. in the picture you can see I don't look happy. it is because I was little uncomfortable, but after a while I got over it. Most of the time people restrict literacy practices to reading text but that not the only way to practice literacy. In music I experience the literacy by being exposed to the different genres, and language in songs. Also, I learn different words and their meanings in music. I work at a daycare and have the opportunity to teach and introduce literature to them. I like introducing the toddlers to new characters, settings, and experiences through books. I think this picture best represents me doing my favorite experience because it shows the special bond the toddlers and I have together while I read to them. through reading I introduce new words and phrases to them. the learn to comprehend what is being said and act on directions or commands. My mother, sisters and me would read the book together. I remember how the pictures would capture my attention. It was the only book I remember actually wanted to read when I was young. sadly, as I grew up and become more busy with my social and academic life, I forgot about the book that I care the most about.  
During my first semester in the program I was completing an assignment for Eickholdt class. I was in Baggetts library looking for books that would help me complete the assignment. I came across my favorite book. I got emotional because I forgotten about that book, even though it was favorite. I went home that day and showed my sisters the book. and they forgotten as well. That night we went to Barnes and Noble and brought all the books we had forgotten about.
