After attending this week's lecture on The Creative Work Plan and Ad Appeals, I gained great insights into the complexities of advertising strategy and copywriting.

I discovered that advertising acts as a problem-solving tool for customers, needing a strategic approach that includes creative strategy, concept creation, structure, and style.

Ms. Idany highlighted the need to understand the client's brand and the 3Ps (Prospect, Product, and Pugilist) to effectively address the problem and achieve objectives.

Something that struck me in class was the importance of Ad Appeals, specifically their role in grabbing attention and developing views about things. This was new to me since I had no idea exactly what goes into deciding on an ad strategy.

Reflecting on this lecture, I recognise the critical connection between strategy, creativity, and appeal in the ever-changing world of advertising.

For this week, we were given a tutorial exercise containing five different creative briefs where we needed to create a Headline, Body Copy/Caption& Hashtags for three media outlets which were: Facebook, Instagram & Twitter (X)

It was a group exercise so I was assigned to complete two of the creative briefs. One was about a Health & Wellness App and the other was about an Eco-Friendly Home Cleaning Product.

It was interesting coming up with catchy headlines that fit the information provided and it was a way for me to think out of the box. I made a conscious effort to make sure that the creative approaches were related to one another and that all necessary information was included.

Overall it was a fun tutorial exercise and I got to improve my writing skills for the captions/body copy. This is a skill that will be extremely important when I start my career. (153 words)

In this lecture, Ms. Idany covered the key elements of print ads, such as headlines, subheadlines, body copy, slogans, and visuals.

This week's lecture I learned that effective advertising copywriting requires understanding specific conventions and techniques. The conventions emphasize clarity, conciseness, and a focus on consumer benefits. Writing in the present tense, using active voice, and employing personal pronouns are key strategies.

Additionally, avoiding clichés and maintaining a single-minded focus on the main idea enhances the impact. Various techniques like straight-line copy, testimonials, and narratives cater to different advertising needs.

The ultimate goal is to craft compelling body copy that motivates the reader to act, ensuring the message is both engaging and persuasive. This structured approach helps create impactful and memorable advertisements.

As for my individual assignment, I continued working on my profile deck and researching my chosen brand Hnm. The process was not too bad as I was able to find relevant information about the brand. I then also started looking for examples for my own print ad design. (149 words)

During Independent Learning Week, I took the opportunity to continue working on my assignment.

I started designing the print ad deliverables, focusing on creating three unique ads that shared the same headline, tagline, and body copy. Initially, I struggled with creativity and conveying my message effectively.

To overcome this, I reached out to a few classmates for inspiration. Their input helped me generate some general ideas, giving me a solid foundation to start from.

Additionally, I began organizing my profile deck by arranging the slides and transferring information from my drafts to the final version. This process allowed me to complete several key sections, significantly advancing my progress. Overall, these efforts were crucial in helping me stay on track to meet the upcoming deadline.
