She was caught almost immediately by the Hungarian police. She was hurt by the Hungarian police passing on the next several months, getting beatings over and over again. 
Hannah refused to give out any information about her mission.

The purpose of this was  Allied efforts in Europe and establish contact with partisan resistance fighters  in an attempt to aid beleaguered Jewish communities.
