It is also higher developed than most of Africa. There are a few things that contributed to this:

• Poverty: The poverty levels have decreased from 56% in 1990 to 43% in 2014. Although poverty isn't as bad as it was in the past, a little less than half of the population is still in poverty.
• Economy: South Africa has the second largest economy in Africa. Has an upper-middle income economy and is responsible for 24% of Africa's gross domestic product, which has tripled to 400 billion. Overall, South Africa's economy is doing great.
• Education: In South Africa, there is about 12, 644, 208 students, 30, 586 schools, and 439, 394 teachers. This means that about 41.7% of the population reached high school education or higher and most completed basic schooling except for the 8.6% that did not get any education at all.

The economy is going well and poverty is slowly decreasing which means it is more likely that more people in Africa will move to South Africa.
