Positive: Great website to use to introduce citing. Allows for multiple types of sources to be cited. Different citing styles. Easy to use. (ex. paste website URL and click Cite it) Helps save time creating citations.

I LOVE this website! It is a way to take videos and then add in questions and stopping points for students to respond to. 
Here are some reasons why: 
-It's FREE! You can use your school Google account to sign in. 
-You can add your class from Google Classroom so your students are automatically in there. 
-You can find videos from Khan Academy, YouTube, National Geographic, TED Talks, etc... (and none of them are blocked :) ) 
-You can shorten/crop a video, add a question, record and put in an audio track, and create a short answer or multiple choice answer

Positive: A free app, only the teacher needs the app. A quick formative assessment tool if you don't have 1:1 devices. The teacher prints out a set of cards and students hold up their cards in a specific a, b, c, d direction to indicate their answer.  The teacher then goes around the room scanning answers with their phone or device and the results area automatically posted on your board. The cards are numbered and you can assign each student a card so you can track their answers and progress.

Quizlet is a free website for creating online study sets. Basically it is an online flash card repository on steroids. Both students and teachers can create their own study sets or use ones already created by others. Aside from flash cards it has various methods for students to study the information that is in the study the material. Some of those methods include including matching, fill in the blank, spelling, quizzes, etc.

A formative assessment tool.

Positive: You can use GradeCam to grade assessments instantly.  Hold the student paper up to any camera on your computer, phone, or a document camera, and instantly get assessment results.  It even graphs student progress.

Negative:  Costs money after 60 day trial.  Also seems to only analyze fill-in-the-bubble type assignments.  Basically it seems like a glorified Scantron.  Google and Schoology can accomplish the same data analysis.

Do you really want to dive deep into that presentation? Prezi may be the tool for you. The logging in and registering is cumbersome. There are paywalls all around. But there are some benefits as well. One standout is the non-linear organization, so the presenter can follow questions or feedback from the audience more organically, transferring to the nexus page and then out along another arm. There has been countless minutes wasted trying to find markers and whiteboards for all of the students. Now that the students are one to one, they just pull up the app and complete the math problem. The teacher can go around the room and check quickly. They can erase with the click of a button and move onto the next problem or they can save the problem with a screen shot it and share it with their classmates and teacher.

Students always seem to think a project means "copy and paste from a website".  This might be a solution!  (sort -of)

Scrible lets users save, annotate, comment on, and share webpages. Perhaps this means no more searching for what site was plagiarized? Require students to share their sources.  Perhaps annotating will also help them put ideas into their own words.  It even looks like it syncs with google classroom.

I really like using this webpage/App. Great way to narrate a lesson so the students can watch, pause and watch over again. This grabs their attention and allows them to watch at their own pace. Nice way for the students to also create their own lesson or narration. First time my students watched it, they thought I was a "YouTuber".

I create grids on FlipGrid for student’s reading responses. Students purposely create videoclips to present their understanding of their readings. I generate questions and students add their ideas as a group. On their way to building their videoclips, students plan, discuss, rehearse and execute their videotape.
