About Her Family

Mrs. Nelson had one younger sister, one younger brother, and one older brother. Her younger sister competed in Olympic marathons, and her older brother is now a doctor. One of their favorite hobbies to do together was to ride horses. When they were younger they were all athletes and practiced each others sports.

After Graduation

After Mrs. Nelson graduated from Harpeth Hall she went to University of North Carolina. There she majored in English and minored in Art History. When she was 24 she opened the restaurant Wild Iris. She now has three of them. One is located in Brentwood, and is still here today

Mrs. Nelson enjoyed to ride horses, run, do P.E., and read books. While walking to school every morning, she would play games to keep herself from getting bored. When she went to Harpeth Hall, all classes for the 6th grade were under the library. This ment that when she finished work early, she would go upstairs and read. Shown in the picture below, this is an activity students enjoyed to do while it was raining outside. They would balance books on their head and see who could keep them on the longest.

Mrs. Nelson participated in a large amount of activities such as, Cross Country, Cum Laude, Student Council, Basketball, The Athletic Association, and Varsity Track.

Before Harpeth Hall

Before Mrs. Nelson joined Harpeth Hall, she attended Julia Green elementary school with all of her siblings. Julia Green went through grades 4 and 5. At Julia Green, kids didn't have to wear uniforms. This is a picture of a class of 4th graders. Even though this was taken at the time she was at Julia Green she in not in the picture.

Mrs. Nelson's favorite class was English. She especially like reading and writing.

Why She Attended Harpeth Hall

While going to Julia Green, her family moved. There was now a location issue from her new home to Julia Green. As her parents looked in to schools they found Harpeth Hall and fell in love with it. She applied and got in to the 6th grade, which was the first year at Harpeth Hall in the moment

In her senior year, Mrs. Nelson won the, Isabelle McMurry Award. That is the award for being a good leader and role model.

Getting Married and Having Children

Mrs. Nelson got married at age 36, and had a daughter at 41. Her daughter is in 8th grade at Harpeth Hall. Her name is Ella Nelson
