This quote said by George indicates that he respects and obeys the law. Also, he knows the consequences that may occur if he were to take the balls out his handicap bag. &nbsp;</p>]]></description>

His thoughts fled in panic."</span></p><p>page 99; 3rd and 5th paragraph down.</p><p>Just before this quote was said, the narrator of the short story was talking about how </p><p>people with high levels of intelligence would have to have mental handicaps so that </p><p>they could have average intelligence like Hazel. The handicap activating every twenty</p><p>seconds and the buzzer causing George's thoughts to flee, tells the reader that George </p><p>is always experiencing great pain.</p>]]></description>
