I've seen/heard many students struggling in school just in general with all the work, stress, and anxiety. Of course no one really enjoys all the work they get but the issues I want resolved are the amount of work, pressure, and the choices students have. No matter the class, students can come to a point where they just feel so overwhelmed and are working all night and day just to get things done. Students shouldn't have to spend all day learning at school then the rest of their day just practicing what they learned when they could be doing things to uwind, relax, and work on other passions. Time is just very limited and not everyone just wants to dedicate their life to school. The pressure students have on them to do their best and succeed is also way too much. It shouldn't be about forcing yourself to give it your all at everything, time is precious and instead of wasting so much of it trying to cram years and years of information into our brain so fast, students should be able to learn at a pace they're comfortable with whilst still feel like they're succeeding in what they do and find contempt in doing so. Everyone learns different things at different paces, and they should be allowed to do so. I also think more advanced classes should be about advancements in knowledge and skill and not just "difficulty". In other words, let's say you have more experience and knowledge about a subject than what's considered "average", these classes should just be for students to learn more in depth about the subject or branch off into different parts of that subject so you can learn even more or understand it better. "Advanced" classes shouldn't be about making things harder for the students by giving them harder work more often and giving them less direction. I'd say the same about college classes, it should be more about trying to learn and understand rather than expecting them to learn and understand right away under so much pressure. Sure, different students might go at slower paces than their peers throughout school and their career, but I think students should be able to try and learn well at longer paces without feeling like they're not succeeding in their life. Though parts of this might also tie into how our society is, but that's a whole other issue itself, Now, my next point is that school should really give students more options in terms of class subjects. Not everyone NEEDS to learn super in depth into math, science, history, and English. There should be an earlier cap on what's required to be learned depending on what students want as a career or while they're still figuring things out. There should also be more opportunities for students to figure out what they want through research and experience.
