But there probably wouldn’t be anybody doing anything. Nobody would really go to the government and demand action, they’d feel as though their reposting would encourage government to take action, but that’s not always the case. It’d just be one of the “Hot New Topics” for a while and then something else like a dog burping bubbles or the tide pod challenge would shift the attention of the people. Similar to the slaves that were being traded in Libya, people were reposting the pictures and videos and saying “#prayforlibya” but nobody really did anything about it. Therefore I conclude that social media would spread awareness for any new form of genocide but it wouldn’t take that much part is dissipating it, if nobody took action.

If this could happen again, how would social media help stop it?

People would post pictures showing the depths of the situation, and once people started to see how serious it is, they’ll start to make a little commotion. If the government has not yet started to do something, the people will start rioting and protesting. A Holocaust is something serious, so I think that most people would be moral enough to recognize that it’s wrong, so they’ll join in and either help protest or move the message along. If most people in a country are protesting, the government will have to respond.

I believe social media is all talk with no action. Social media would help in a way though to bring attention to the subject but nothing much else. In order for social media to really help things we need people who can come to action and back up what they’re saying and do something to make the change that they are speaking of. Many people on social media are not willing to do so regardless because the events that are occurring are not happening to them.

I feel like it would be a for or against moment or maybe a fight or flight moment. I believe that if it did happen, it wouldn’t just turn a switch or a camera towards the chaos but it could possibly turn people as to which side they ae fighting for or exactly what they believe.

But that goes back to beliefs & the hatred of what someone thinks or believes. So in conclusion, it will always be somewhat of a time loop until more generations come upon Earth. Speaking of people, I think the next generation will get a better view & come out more peacefully about the things that happen around the world than just turning attention and focus to violence.

Another thing people would do if no one was doing anything would be revolt.

This could also lead to fake news misinforming people about the actual situation. Social Media give people awareness by providing information about the situation. People can use social media to find ways on how to prevent of act upon the situation at hand. Also, Social media allows to use worldwide communication to help others in need. That’s how social media can make a possible holocaust situation impossible.

Social Media could worsen the situations with the multiple consequences it comes with. People tend to use social media to project negative comments, which could harm others in more ways than one. Social Media makes people lazy and inactive, which prevents them from taking action in this situation. And Social Media could influence people to go to the side of opposition that’s against the less dominant side. That’s how Social Media could worsen the situation by how it could be a bad influence to people with negative comments, bias, and false information.

If the holocaust were to happen again what how would social media help?	Social media could help by raising awareness. For example if at least one person posts something it could have a snowball effect and reach everyone if they really cared and reposted the original post. Social media has the power to spread just about anything whether it be real or not in a matter of seconds. It would play a key role in communication but that’s about it. Social media couldn’t stop a holocaust or any other type of terrible event from happening but it could make sure that enough people know about it to stop it.

Prince Aguguo

Mod: 1A

2/28/18

I personally think that the holocaust wouldn’t happen today because of the way the world is now, and the fact that people wouldn’t allow this to happen (to an extent). Because to be completely honest slavery and human abuse still happens till this day in other third world countries, not in huge developed countries like the USA, Canada, Europe, etc. People, being people, either won’t inform other people that can probably help with the issue, and maybe the issue itself may to be too minor for the US or anywhere else to do something about it. It all depends on the extent of what people are doing.
