         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>This SDG is very important because without gender equality, women are suffering from domestic violence, unequal pay, loss of educational and career opportunities, and no access to sexual and reproductive health.&nbsp;</li><li>Gender equality and the&nbsp;empowerment of women and girls globally is a key factor in achieving all of the SDG's by 2030.&nbsp;</li><li>By promoting women's economic growth that will also lead to an improvement in the overall economic development of countries and businesses.</li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This article talks about the importance of achieving gender equality and empowering women and girls. In order to achieve this goal by 2030, we need urgent action on eliminating root causes of discrimination such as discriminatory laws, gender-based violence, and unequal pay and employment opportunities.<br><br></div><ul><li>&nbsp;49 countries are still lacking laws to protect women from domestic violence and 39 countries bar equal inheritance rights for daughters and sons.</li><li>Child marriage steals the childhood of 15 million girls under the age of 18 every year</li><li>Data from 87 countries states: 1 in 5 women and girls under 50 years-old will have experienced physical and/or sexual violence by an intimate partner within the last 12 months</li><li>Women do 2.6 times more unpaid care and domestic work than men which contributes to women receiving lower earnings and less time to enjoy non-work activities</li><li>Only 52% of women married or in a relationship have the freedom to make their own choices about sexual relations, contraceptive use, and healthcare&nbsp;</li><li>Globally, women occupy less than a third of senior and management positions</li></ul>]]></description>
