As I've had some experience in university previously, I do believe it will be a similar experience at UOL with a side of UK culture!

In my previous experience , we only had lectures and academic books were the only materials provided ( and sometimes not even books ) . It was stressful because if you didn't focus in the lecture , you would end up waisting your time and energy for nothing .

Study in UK I think it may have more opportunity to have self-study. In my previous experience of study I have less opportunities to study by itself.

In addition,Compared to college , there was more guidance, help and supervision in senior high school, which also means that now I need to learn completely on my own.

I believe studying here will be different from my previous experience of study in the style of learning, mode of delivery and communication style sense.

Studying in University of Leeds will be different from past studies since they will expect a student to rely on themselves rather than someone reminding them to. It's more of a responsibilty and a free way study style that doesn't require certain steps and procedures to convey a general topic.

It will be different for me to study here compared to my previous school due to the new student-teacher relationship. In university teachers will no longer spoon-feed information, due dates, or reminders to students.

I think the way of studying here. Is more focused on being independent you need to manage your time, keep up with lessons and adapting to different learning styles. Back home everything was straightforward, but here I’ll need to be more active and organize how I study.

Studying at Leeds would be a more collaborative study experience to me. I feel as though I would be able to learn through more viewpoints than just my own, and find others who are eager and excited to learn about certain topics.

Although my previous school also had independent learning , it wasn't to the extent we're currently taking at the University of Leeds. Previously, I was taught the lecture in class and then had to do some homework or presentations. However, now I get to go on my own pace and understand each concept thoroughly. I am expected to answer and know the lecture topic before hand so I can practice hands-on learning or in a class activity . In my opinion, it is the best way a person can gain both knowledge and independency.

In my previous studying experience included those kind of elements, e.g. making study plan for exams, and reviewing exams. However, most of the tasks were memorising what I learned in the lecture, therefore studying here will be completely different experience.

No difference since I have always been relying on myself

A2:instead of studying for 7 hours everyday now I attend classes for only three to five hours.

Also we don’t take the same modules every day and as an international student there are so many people from different countries who speak different languages and have different cultures and backgrounds .

I think studying at the Leeds International study centre is not going to be much different as my previous experience of study as I spent all of my school life studying using the British curriculum, however their will definitely be some changes as I'm not used to fully relying on myself.

Studying here will be different from pervious studying experiences since in my high school it was not an independent learning environment, we had teachers explain face-to-face then we'd go home and find the gaps we didn't understand in class and try our best to fill them ourselves

It is different from a person to another, so it will help you focus more on yourself and the way you receive information.

I think studying here will focus more about self learning, as we are now more responsible about ourself and we can choose the best way that work with us in receiving education and knowledge.

Q2: During my senior high school even early, I found that most of teachers in my study experience were always keeping in a traditional system, in a simple terms, which means teachers only care about your exam score, and during the classes, it has always been the case that teachers were explains, students were listening and take notes. As a result, we won't know that whether we have turly understood the methods also the theories. After the welcome week in study center, I learn about that teachers will guide you to thinking many qusetions in order to training you critical brain even independent thinking, I hope that I can enjoy the process in differents teaching ways and learning some new things.

I feel like studying here will help guide me into becoming a more independent and resourceful person. I will try different ways of learning and understanding what's best for me.

Studying at the University of Leeds will differ from my previous experience because it requires deeper critical thinking and more initiative in exploring ideas beyond what is taught in class.

Studying in University of Leeds will be quite different from before, because in my past study, teachers gave us clear instructions and we just followed. But here, I think it will be more independent learning and we need to think more deeply. Also, everything is in English and full-time English teaching is a bit hard for me now, so I need some time to get used to it. But I believe I will slowly improve and become more confident to study in this way.

Studying in the University of Leeds, which is a top university both in the UK and the world, I can learn more and more authoritative knowledge in my desired research field from excellent teachers from all over the world.At the same time, I can discuss with more outstanding, comprehensive and diverse classmates. I think this is a very honorable and meaningful thing.

At school, lessons are driven by our teachers and very focused around exams, but at University of Leeds we have more time for self-study, are able to select our own topics for a lot of assessments and essays, actively participate in class discussions and do a lot of independent research.

My studies abroad will be different because I’m going to be more responsible for my learning.

This experience will definitely be something new and different from all my previous experiences. Since now I have to be self motivated, self directed learning, and self development. Of course i won't say its all on me but the majority of it is.

In my opinion, I think the only difference is that lecturers here would sort of hold our hands (maybe for a period), and the classes are quite slow paced, but as compared to my home country, lessons were fast-paced and we had to be quite independent in the sense our lecturers will leave everything up to us to do (basically self-study), but still be available if we need consultations.

Studying here will likely be quite different from my previous experience. In China, the education system is more structured, with teachers guiding most of the learning process and a focus on standardized testing.

i think studying here will be diffrent becouse it is a new city to me.

To know how to find answers,understand and do your work on your own. In addition, independent studying will be different for me becuase I am not used to it. I will start understanding on my own and basically do everything on my own not like how it as in high school where teachers helped with everything.

independent learning means taking responsibility for your own education — managing your time, setting goals, identifying what you need to learn, and finding ways to achieve that knowledge without constant direction from a teacher.At Leeds, I expect to have more freedom and responsibility for my own learning. I’ll be able to explore topics in more depth and make use of the many resources available, like the library, online journals, and workshops. I’ll also have more chances to work with other students, take part in discussions, and apply what I learn to real-life situations.

I also believe it wont be much different from my previous study experience.

Independent Learning means student are always active, able to self direct where student can route their educational path by themselves

Independent learning refers to the form of self studying where you take time and effort out of your own free time to study for a task.

I think in UoL it will be mainly very independent and self study focused.

The way of studying in here is you need to adapt to find every resource for your studies alone but you can ask for help

the main concept of independent to me however it wasnt necessary to succeed.

In my past years of high school, I have to followed the guidance of the what tutor taught in the class. In addition, most of the answers were given by the tutor and we have to take those in the answer sheet. In the UK, the tutor only told us what to do and how to learn by ourselves so I think independent learning helped us improve our research skills and took out our own abilities.

Studying here feels like it will be a refreshing shift from my previous experience. I expect a stronger emphasis on collaborative learning—more discussions, group projects, and peer feedback compared to the more lecture-centered approach I was used to.
