         <description><![CDATA[<div>Assessments =<br> <strong>60% of your grade <br><br>Tests/Quizzes/Reading &amp; Writing Assignments</strong></div><ul><li>Tests are announced at least one week in advance.  </li><li>Quizzes may or may not be announced and are based on readings, lessons, and texts.</li><li>Assignments vary and are given with enough time to prepare, <strong><mark>and evaluated using a rubric.  </mark></strong></li><li>ALL Writing Assignments are primarily brainstormed, drafted, revised and edited <strong>INDEPENDENTLY</strong> and WITHOUT parent/guardian support to allow for authenticity and growth.</li><li>Submitting <strong>late</strong> tasks results in a loss of points.</li><li>Assignments <strong>NOT</strong> submitted will result in a ZERO.</li><li>Please note: Assessments will be given primarily on Mondays.
