Tests/Quizzes/Reading & Writing Assignments
  • Tests are announced at least one week in advance.  
  • Quizzes may or may not be announced and are based on readings, lessons, and texts.
  • Assignments vary and are given with enough time to prepare, and evaluated using a rubric.  
  • ALL Writing Assignments are primarily brainstormed, drafted, revised and edited INDEPENDENTLY and WITHOUT parent/guardian support to allow for authenticity and growth.
  • Submitting late tasks results in a loss of points.
  • Assignments NOT submitted will result in a ZERO.
  • Please note: Assessments will be given primarily on Mondays. If there is a holiday on a given Monday then the assessment will take place on Tuesday.

  • Have respect and use proper procedures for constructive arguments & discussions (In-Person and Online). 

"In-Person Learning"

  • Be prepared with the necessary tools (1 marble notebook, blue/black pen, pencil, Post-its, an Independent reading book.) 
  • Be in your seat and ready to work by the end of the musical interlude.
  • Actively and effectively participate verbally and/or using the CHAT BOX (when available).
  • Actively and productively contribute during BREAKOUT small-group sessions.

"Remote Learning"
  •  All students are alert and ready to work at the start of class.
  • All students must actively and effectively participate using the CHAT BOX feature and/or verbally contributing.
  • All students must actively and productively contribute during BREAKOUT small-group sessions.
  • All students must complete work INDEPENDENTLY.

Daily Classwork Rubric:
0 = No Evidence of Effort and/or Work and does NOT use time efficiently; may distract or interfere with learning experience

1 = Somewhat Contributes; Some Evidence of Work; attempts towards efficiency; attempts to contribute effectively towards discussions and/or activities

2 = Full Evidence of Work; Uses time efficiently; adds values to discussions & activities
