80/20

In this form of time management, 80 is jobs that just have to be done and 20 is strategic jobs. It is best to only put 50% of your time into the 80 and then figure out when you perform at your best to do the 20 part. Which is called the Einstein window. It is best to clear away the difficult tasks while you are the most alert, so when you make your list of "to dos" then you need to prioritise them. I try to figure out the time it will take for each job and how important each one is then list them in order, giving myself some contingency so there is less pressure and hopefully less stress

I used to have a checklist for my job as an inventory controller. I used it to prioritize the tasks I had to complete. These were ordered from the importance of each task. Each task had a date I had listed as when I should have it completed by.

I use this for my family. In the morning of weekends each of my children tell me what they want to get achieved in that day eg, tidy room, project for school, bike ride, watch a movie. We then prioritise them - taking into account what time of day & weather etc. I also share what I want to do & what activity they will need my help with.

I always like to plan ahead. When the day has finished I work out my jobs , goals or activities that I want and need to complete by a certain time and I put them in a order I can cope with. I try to get the biggest and most important done first and give myself enough time and breaks to fit in the small things. I try to prioritize wisely.
