         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>Considered to be one of the most influential constructivist to approach the understanding learning.</li><li>Created a set of stages know as Piaget's Stage:<ul><li>Sensori Motor (0-2)</li><li>Pre-opperational (2-7)</li><li>Concrete Opperational (7-11)</li><li>Formal Operations (11+)</li></ul></li><li>Used each stage to describe how each age group develops intellectually during that period.</li><li> He described 2 processes for which adjust to our environment.<ul><li><em>Assimilation- </em>is the process where new knowledge is incorporated into existing knowledge.</li><li><em>Accommodation- </em>is the process where mental structures have to be altered in order to cope with a new experience.</li></ul></li></ul>]]></description>

         <title>Weaknesses of Constructivism </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>Some students need structure and this teaching method lacks structure.</li><li>  A concern is that constructivism  leads to "group think", which will lead to few voices taking over and other students being "dominated".  </li><li>Time consuming in the aspect of teachers need to really know each child's strengths and weaknesses for this to work to its full potential.  </li><li>The hands on learning may require materials the teacher does not have access too, which can prevent the lesson or become expensive.  </li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br></div><ul><li>Oral discussions: Students engage in an open discussion once a teacher presents them with a "focus" question.</li><li>KWL(H) Chart: (What we know, What we want to know, What we have learned, How we know it). This strategy can be used throughout a lesson of a specific topic.</li><li>Mind Mapping:  Students create a diagram that lists and organizes concepts and ideas relating to a topic </li><li>Hands-on activities. These encourage students to utilize their environments or a specific learning tool. </li><li>Pre-testing. This allows a teacher to determine what knowledge students already possess about new material. </li></ul>]]></description>
