In this paper, Stone discusses the changes that Disney incorporated in folktales when recreating them in order to make them suitable for all ages. The reasons for Disney's recreations as constant films and literature in the past, present and future are described by her in this journal.

K F. Stone mainly focusses on Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White and compares some of their characters and endings with the ones written by the Grimm and Perrault.

This article mentions the wars and the challenges that society went through which can be seen in these short stories.

I want to read more about why nowadays, the stories don't have such deep meanings as in wars, but the fairytales are more about fantasy and heroism such as Frozen and Brave.

This movie portrays a young girl named Cinderella who finds herself living with her 2 step sisters and step mother. Her step mother is very strict (mean) and forces her to complete household tasks, in order to prevent her from going to the ball (prince's party). A fairy god mother appears and helps her get ready for the dance, where she meets the prince that falls in love with her. She must be home by 12 and therefore runs off before the prince has a change to catch her name. At the end he finds her by using her lost slipper and sees that it fits on her foot. They live happily ever after.

This paper discusses the critical perspectives on Disney. By reading this I am able to compare some reasons of folktale stories and their changes to Disney's present movies and their negative aspects. For example, in this article it mentions that numerous amounts of adults go watch these movies in theatre without the company of a child. The question here is, are these movies portraying the world as it should be to children or are they understanding the film in unhealthy ways - such as women need to be saved or women need to be beautiful.

Compared to the liver, again I see that folktales were more gory = here the evil queen wanted proof of Snow White being dead so she asked the huntsman for Snow's lungs and liver, whereas in the movie she just wants her heart.

Possibly the parts where the evil queen is disguised as a poor woman who is selling things other than an apple was taken out for its relevance as silk doesn't seem as tempting as an apple to children.

It is clear that the time period is not the only reason, but it is also due to the audience type they were trying to reach (Example: K F. Stone)

I will still need to research more about what would happen if the same amount of "cruelty"/aggressive behaviour would have stayed the same and been portrayed in these films.
