Part of the facilitator role is to provide encouragement along the way, and give praise for student success. This makes the subject seem more important to the student and will influence them to work harder.Robert J Marzono (2010) proposed that"teaching many students that added effort will pay off in terms of achievement actually increases student achievement more than techniques for time management and comprehension of new material." This teaching strategy can be used frequently in all tasks to build a solid relationship with students.

("Teaching Strategies", 2017) Cooperative learning creates an interactive environment with the use of groups to provide students the opportunity to work with others and see different points of view and learn from each other. "Research shows that students learn more effectively when working together rather than apart, and it is also known to improve self-confidence in students."("Top 5 Teaching Strategies", 2017) An example of the cooperative learning technique that I would use is the jigsaw technique. In the jigsaw technique "students are exposed to and use many skills throughout this strategy: Communication, problem-solving skills, cognition, and critical thinking -- all of which are essential for a successful academic career."("Top 5 Teaching Strategies", 2017) In an art classroom, this can be practiced by implementing group projects and assigning each student to a particular role.

The teacher's task in this strategy to provide meaningful questions pertaining to the class objectives and lesson plan, and then "frequently step offstage and facilitate entire class discussion."(Alber, 2017) While in open-discussion, students are able to learn from each other. "It's also a great opportunity for teachers to formatively assess (through observation) how well students are grasping new content and concepts."(Alber, 2017) Classroom discussion is a great tool to use as an ice breaker or opener to get students engaged in the subject, and also a way for each student to share their viewpoints. I recommend using this strategy as an opening r introduction to every lesson plan. It is important as the facilitator to also ensure that each student has a chance to voice their opinion and allow them to develop as speakers.

This practice is a chance for students and teacher's to review the student's work and find ways to improve. "In order to provide students with effective and accurate feedback, teachers need to assess frequently and routinely where students are in relation to the unit of study's learning goals or end product (summative assessment)."(Alber, 2017) In a one-to-one context teachers can discuss traits of the student's progression with both their strengths and weaknesses and provide them with ways to improve.

In the art community, homework is a chance for students to freely practice and develop their skills.Home work or individual practice, provides students with "opportunities to deepen their understanding and skills relative to presented content."(Nazeem, Nazeem & profile, 2017) The more a student practices, the better they'll get. But this is only when a teacher is providing feedback of heir homework throughout the course.  "Effectiveness depends on quality and frequency of teacher feedback, among other factors." Over time with effective feedback provided, the teacher will be able to see their students' growth, this strategies could be very simply implemented through the use of journals in the classroom.
