This is my family! My husband, Nate, teaches high school, and we have three amazing children. Our son Patrick just completed his freshman year at Concordia University Irvine, our son Shane just finished 10th grade, and our daughter Bailey just graduated from 8th grade. We are so blessed!

Here I am with my three kiddos on Mother's Day! Grace is 8 and just finishing 2nd grade, Colton is 6 and finishing Kindergarten, and Caleb is 3 1/2 and loves preschool! My husband is not pictured, but if you have little kids, you can imagine the silly noises and faces he's making while taking this picture to try and get the kids to smile.

Recently, some teachers at my school, including me, participated in our school talent show. This was the first talent show my school has hosted since COVID and the kids were thrilled to participate again. Us teachers danced to a combination of songs and even included some TikTok moves in there.

This is a picture of my class during our water day. For my station, I had the students do a variation of "Duck, Duck, Goose" with water called "Drip, Drip, Drop." The students had a cup of water with a couple holes at the bottom and they dripped it on everyone's head. They dumped the whole cup ("drop") on someone to be chased. They always enjoy this simple end of the year activity!

Hello! I decided to share with all of your a photo and highlight of our recent FFA Awards Banquet on campus. Here is a photo of a group of our FFA Members that are all enrolled in an Agricultural Science course on campus. The photo was taken at the end of the banquet. This is a student run event and as the FFA Advisor I help the Chapter FFA Officer Team (the student leaders) put it on. We have events throughout the year but this is one of the best events of the year at the local level as it is a chance to celebrate student success from the year and an excellent fun way to celebrate the end of the school year. The 7 Chapter Officers for Elsinore High School did an amazing job revamping the script this year. In attendance were about 300 student members and special guest from our district, administration, parents and families, and community leaders.

Around a month ago my family went to my cousin's wedding. It was quite fun seeing everyone in my extended family that I rarely get to see. In this picture is me on the right, my son Steven next to me, my wife Kimberly next, and my daughter Kimiko on the left.

On a side note, this wedding occurred on my birthday. Because of this, the underlying joke with my family was that this was the most extravagant birthday party I have ever had. Great food and cakes!

I wanted to share a photo of my students in the esports class. On May 31st the students had a chance to take what they have been learning in the class to a district tournament where they were they were interviewing teams after matches about their experience at the tournament and the benefits of esports. They were also responsible for taking pictures of the event throughout the day. During the event I was there observing but they were in charge of organizing themselves, taking on different roles within the tournament and demonstrating team work. This is a small group of the 54 students in the esports class and each student has completed a similar task throughout the year at different tournaments. What is so special about the picture and the students is that they are seeing their learning pay off by getting to use it in real scenarios and not just in the classroom. It has been a great year for my esport class and club and about 95 percent of the students will be returning next year to continue to learn about the business of esports.

This picture represents part of my why in teaching. This was the last week of school for my work site and one of my eighth grade students brought me this card with one of the most memorable notes a student has ever given me. As a language arts instructor, I am passionate about literacy and hope to pass on some of that to my students. Yet, I never really know how much my students receive, perceive, and/or adopt. Reading the note my student wrote made me feel as though all the challenges and hardships are worth it because my work does matter. It was a lovely way to end the week!

This is a picture of me and my family at Disneyland about a week ago. I am with my husband Val and my son Valentin, who is 2 years old. We have annual passes to Disneyland, and it is one of our favorite things to do together as a family. In this picture, we are on the Pixar Pals Carousel in California Adventure. It is our dream vacation to go to Disneyworld, and our bucket list dreams are to visit Disney parks around the world!
