My parents told my grandmother they were having a girl and asked her if her name should be Alexandra or Jessie. 

My dad's side of the family, both his mother and father, are Scottish - tried and true all the way through! 

Anyway, in her very strong Scottish accent she chose "Jessie".

My close friends and family call me "Coco" though, the story behind that is not very interesting. 

My last name "Squance" comes from my father's family in Northern Ireland though it is not a popular name in either the north or south so we are not entirely sure where it came from. I often have to spell both my first and last names for people.
