When he entered into his kingdom, he sees a “young man leaned to lift his beautiful drinking cup, embossed, two-handled, golden: the cup was in his fingers: the wine was even at his lips:.” Odysseus then realizes that they are having a party in his kingdom and gets irate that he decides to kill ever suitor no matter the extent of their betrayal. He also wanted to kill them because they were trying to marry Odysseus' wife. He uses figurative language by using different types of words that help show why Odysseus is irated about the suitors throwing a festivity in his kingdom. An example of when he uses figurative language and imagery is when the author wrote “But the kingly manlet fly an arrow at that instant, and the quivering feathered butt sprang to the nipple of his breast as the barb struck in his liver”. But It turns out that Odysseus didn’t know who they actually were. He found out that they were trying to marry Odysseus’ wife. Odysseus got so mad that he wanted to kill the suitors. This relates to culture now because sometimes people act one way. But then later on they are really bad people who go against you and try to take away what means the most to that person.

While Achilles is more arrogant. 
E - As you can see in the following quotes Odysseus friends even go out to say “You are a hard, man, Odysseus. Your force is greater, your limbs never wear out.”
E -They basically call him a hard worker which takes courage because in the beginning in he couldn't get any respect from anyone.
L - These quotes basically show that Odysseus is a hard worker and works for what he has and even his friends know it and talk about it.

As you can tell the author ,Andrew Gude, takes a lot of time to describe things/events on what's going on so there easily picturable.
E - Like in the (quote 1410) it says “your clean cut game is over”. Which he could've just said something like the game is over, but he wanted to describe it more
E - Andrew Gude often uses his set stronger diction to grab you more in the story and to tell the story better with better description
L - The way he describes everything with his diction grabs an audience much better. Also his diction is so powerful it makes the reader imagine better
