Window Glass (8"x8")

This is a piece of window glass that has been shattered in three places. The first shatter is the one on the the far left. And then the second is on the middle piece of tape, and the last break is on the piece of tape on the far right. It can be seen that the first break is the largest and has the most radial cracks extending outward. Then the other breaks have much less impact and are smaller.

Wine Glass

This is a picture of a shattered wine glass. It displays lead crystal. It can be seen that the glass only broke into large chunks, and stayed completely whole at the thickest part (stem).

Window Glass (5"x5")

This is a piece of the shattered window pane. This is the top side of the window. It can be seen that there are several cracks in the glass and that the the edges are very jagged.

Lead Crystal

This is a lead crystal decorative glass. It was extremely thick so as to incorporate designs into the glass.

This is a piece of window glass that has been shattered. It was only broken in one place, which can be seen on the tape line. The crack has several concentric and radial cracks.

This is a piece of whole window glass. The glass is perfectly clear in color and is also thin.

This is a picture of shattered auto glass. It has several cracks throughout the entire piece. It is broken into little small bits.

Beaker

This is a picture of a broken beaker. The beaker shattered into a few, large pieces. It also stayed whole at one entire section, which probably represents the sectin that was not hit directly.

Window Glass Shard

This is a shard of broken window glass. It is in a weighboat, ready to be weighed. It is a thin, clear piece.

Lead Crystal Shard

This is a shard of lead crystal. It was thicker than the window glass and was also clear. It is also in a weigh boat.

Tempered Glass Shard

This is a shard of tempered glass. It was very shattered. It had several cracks and was thicker than the window glass. It has a bluish color to it. It is also in a weak boat.

This is the tempered glass submerged in the water. It can be seen that the shard is clearly visible, which means that water and tempered glass have a different refractory index.

Pyrex Glass

This is a picture of pyrex glass submerged in water. The Beck lines are clearly visible, however not as visible as with the tempered glass. This means that the refractory indices of water and pyrex glass are somwhat similar.

This is lead crystal glass submerged in water. The Beck lines are visible, but they are not as clear as the other pieces, however they are more clear than the window glass piece. For this reson, its refractory index is omewhat close to water.

This is a shard of tempered glass submerged in vegetable oil. The glass was very visible, and took on a whitish color (however, that may just be from the angle of the photo). Overall, the refractory index of tempered glass is not very close to that of vegetable oil.

This is window glass submerged in vegetable oil. The piece is almost completely invicible, howver some Beck lines are still vicible. For this reason, the refractory index of window glass is extremelt close to vegetable oil.

This is a shard of lead crystal glass submerged in vegetable oil. Like pyrex glass, some cracks are shown, but the middle is mostly invisible. For this reason, lead crystal glass has a refractory index somewhat close to that of vegetable oil.

This is a shard of pyrex glass from a beaker. It was a small, jagged shard, with a slight curve to it. It is clear and is in a weigh boat.

This is a shard of window glass submerged in clove oil. Only a faint line can be detected of the glass. However, the picture is not of good quality so it is hard to see here. However this means that the refractory index of glass is somewhat close to that of clove oil.

This is a shard of tempered glass submerged in clove oil. The shard is completely invisible, therefore the refractory index of tempered glass is the same as clove oil.

This is a shard of pyrex glass submerged in clove oil. The piece is visible, but just however. This picture is bad quality so it is hard to see here. However this means that the refractory index of pyrew glass is close to that of clove oil.
