Long Pond & Round Pond

There are two ponds at Pinewoods.
Long Pond is by the Camp House, and there are specific times when a Lifeguard will be stationed on the Dock. There is a changing room between the Camp House and the Bookstore.

Round Pond is on the other side of camp, accessible by small dock at the Pinecones House. This pond is swimsuit optional.

If you are a dishwasher...

... bring closed-toe shoes! For health and safety, you MUST wear closed-toe shoes if you are working in the kitchen.

What Are Included in Cabins?

Cabins have full-length mirrors (perfect for checking out your outfit and checking for ticks), a broom, a dustpan, a twin bed and a pillow. Even though a pillow is provided, some campers prefer to bring their own pillow from home. The beds do have mattresses, but they can be a bit firm. Bringing an egg-crate or mattress cover can make bedtime a bit more enjoyable.

What is NOT included in cabins?

Heat! Air conditioning! Bed linens! Towels!

Bringing an oscillating fan is great for hot days. Having a heavy blanket or sleeping bag for unseasonably chilly evenings is also handy.

Did you forget your sheets? For a small fee, you can rent sheets, blankets, and towels from Pinewoods Camp. These are available in the First Aid Room.

Hot & Sticky After the Last Dance of the Night?

Jump in Long Pond after the dance! Just make sure you have your towel so you can dry-off afterwards. Some people jump in fully-clothed. Others will bring a fresh set of clothes with them to change into after ponding.

Pack More Than You Need

Especially when it comes to undergarments and socks. You can wash clothes in the sink at camp, but nothing truly dries.

Your Medicine

Pack your meds. There are also refrigerators at camp that you can place medicine in that needs to be refrigerated.

Dance Shoes - MORRIS EDIT

Dance shoes are required in all pavilions.

At ESCape, we will be exploring three different dance traditions: English Country Dancing, Scottish Country Dancing, and American Contra Dancing. Flat, closed-toe shoes with traction will be helpful for Longsword.

- Shower shoes/ shoes to slip on when ducking out of the cabin to go to the bathroom
- FLASHLIGHT (the woods are dark at night)
- Plastic bags to pack wet bathing suit/anything soaked really, for trip home
- Clothespins
- Surge protector with USB slots
- Fan
- Doormat
- Charger for phones, tablets, watches
- Optional formal wear for the Grand March on Thursday, July 6
- Fun outfit to wear for the Chocolate Party on the afternoon of Thursday, July 6

Do a daily tick check. There are full-length mirrors in all the bathrooms and cabins.

Don't be afraid to ask a friend to help you check your scalp, back of neck, etc.

There are tick removing kits in the First Aid Room.

Looking for a quick pick-me-up between meals? There is a Camp Store by the Program Provider Office and Camp House. Snacks are available for purchase, including ice cream.

Breakfast is served cafeteria style. Lunch and dinner are served family-style.

In addition to what is being prepared for that meal, there is an alternatives cart, which has basic salad and sandwich options.
