When Abraham Lincoln became president the war started and the state was so divided you couldn't represent either side. In the 1830 there weren't a lot of plantations so people owned liked 4 or less slaves. They didn't approve of the southern and northern states and they feared Kentucky would choose a side.

Tennessee

Confederates and Unionists were fighting to determine if Tennessee went to Confederate states of America that would neighbor Alabama to connect the Confederacy. The Tennesseans all had different options on the call for secession but the middle Tennesseans were close to making it equally divided. After the war for the middle Tennessee they were left bearing scars but it brought women changes and new roles.
