Problem: Rising sea levels are threatening coastal communities worldwide, including the coasts of Bangladesh, Florida, Louisiana, and the Netherlands. This is due to global warming and the melting of polar ice caps and glaciers.

Why it Matters: Rising sea levels lead to increased coastal erosion, saltwater intrusion into freshwater sources, and more frequent and severe flooding. This displacement of communities, damage to infrastructure, and loss of vital ecosystems. The economic and social consequences are devastating for affected populations, and the environmental damage is far-reaching.

My Commitment: I commit to reducing my carbon footprint by adopting more sustainable transportation methods, such as biking, walking, or using public transport, whenever possible. I will also actively support policies and initiatives aimed at mitigating climate change.

Reflection (create a separate output for this):

- Which solutions are most practical? The practicality of solutions depends on various factors, including feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and community acceptance. Some solutions might be more readily implemented than others. Prioritize solutions that are achievable within existing resources and constraints.

- How can you encourage your families and communities to join these actions? Effective communication is key. Share your resolution and its rationale with your family and community. Highlight the benefits of the proposed actions and how they contribute to a larger goal. Lead by example and actively participate in the proposed actions. Consider organizing community events or workshops to raise awareness and encourage participation.

- How can we hold businesses and government accountable for climate action? This requires a multi-pronged approach:

- Advocacy: Support policies and regulations that hold businesses and governments accountable for their environmental impact.

- Consumer Choices: Make conscious consumer choices, supporting businesses with strong environmental commitments.

- Public Pressure: Use public platforms to raise awareness and demand accountability.

- Legal Action: Explore legal avenues to hold polluters accountable for environmental damage.

These reflection questions encourage critical thinking about the feasibility, implementation, and broader societal impact of climate action resolutions. They also prompt consideration of how to engage others and advocate for systemic change.

PLASTIC WASTE IN BORACAY BEACHES

Here are three practical solutions individuals and communities can take to address plastic waste in Boracay:

Reduce Single-Use Plastics

- Bring Reusable Bags and Water Bottles: Instead of relying on plastic bags and disposable water bottles, individuals can bring their own reusable bags and water bottles. This simple step significantly reduces plastic waste generated during shopping and hydration.

- Opt for Reusable Utensils: When ordering take-out meals, choose to bring your own reusable utensils instead of accepting disposable plastic ones. This practice helps avoid plastic cutlery ending up in landfills or the ocean.

- Say No to Plastic Straws: Many restaurants and cafes offer plastic straws. Requesting beverages without straws or bringing your own reusable straw is a simple way to reduce plastic waste.

Proper Waste Disposal

- Bring a Trash Bag: Before heading to the beach, pack a small trash bag to collect any litter generated. Dispose of trash responsibly in designated bins.

- Segregate Waste: Communities can implement proper waste segregation systems, separating recyclable materials from non-recyclable waste. This allows for efficient recycling and reduces the amount of waste going to landfills.

- Support Recycling Initiatives: Support local businesses and organizations that promote recycling programs. By participating in these initiatives, individuals can contribute to a more sustainable waste management system.

Community Engagement

- Organize Beach Clean-ups: Communities can organize regular beach clean-up events to remove existing plastic waste from the environment. This not only improves the cleanliness of the beach but also raises awareness about the issue of plastic pollution.

- Promote Environmental Education: Schools, community centers, and local organizations can conduct educational workshops and campaigns to raise awareness about the impacts of plastic pollution and encourage responsible waste management practices.

- Support Sustainable Businesses: Choose to patronize businesses that prioritize sustainability and implement eco-friendly practices, such as using biodegradable packaging and promoting recycling. This encourages businesses to adopt responsible practices and contributes to a more sustainable tourism industry.

INDIVIDUAL ACTION PLAN

Climate Action

Resolution Template

• Problem: The unpleasant smell here in super, such as garbage, sewers, or air pollution.

Why it Matters:

The unpleasant smell can cause discomfort for residents and may affect their health, especially those with asthma or other respiratory issues. It can also be a sign of pollution, such as contaminated water or improper waste management, which harms the environment.

My Commitment:

I will make an effort to properly dispose of trash and recycle in order to reduce pollution. I will also encourage my community to maintain their surroundings clean and practice useful trash management.

B. INDIVIDUAL REFLECTION

1. Which solutions are most practical?

Waste reduction- by recycling, composting, and reducing our consumption of single use plastics, we can reduce the amount of garbage that ends up in landfills while also contributing to a more circular economy. On a larger scale, shifting to sustainable transportation, such as taking public transportation, biking, walking, or driving electric vehicles, can considerably cut carbon emissions, particularly in cities. lastly, supporting local food systems and growing food locally, whether through community gardens or backyard farming, is a practical method to lessen the environmental effect of food production and transportation.

2. How can you encourage your families and communities to join these actions?

Education and awareness are important in encouraging families and communities to adopt these practices. It is important to communicate not only the environmental benefits of these changes, but also the personal benefits. Families can be able to make energy-saving changes if they understand how much money they will save in decades to come.community members starts to get more engaged in long-term efforts if they understand how these changes are able to improve health outcomes or build local economies.

3. How can we hold businesses and government accountable for climate action?

When it comes to holding businesses and governments accountable for climate action, the approach must be multifaceted. Public pressure is one of the most powerful tools at our disposal. People can use grassroots movements, petitions, and nonviolent protests to demand that leaders prioritize climate measures that will result in actual change. Consumers may use their purchasing power to keep businesses accountable by supporting companies that prioritize sustainable practices and avoiding those that hurt the environment. Similarly, investors can put pressure on firms to line with environmental goals by supporting companies that are comm

itted to sustainability.

Problem:

Plastic pollution is a major issue in my local area and around the world. Single-use plastics, such as bags, bottles, and packaging contribute to land and ocean pollution harming wildlife and ecosystems.

Why it Matters:

Plastic waste takes hundreds of years to decompose releasing harmful chemicals into the environment. Marine animals often mistake plastic for food leading to injury or death. Additionally microplastics are entering the food chain posing potential health risks to humans

My Commitment:

I will reduce my use of single-use plastics by carrying a reusable water bottle shopping bag and utensils. I will also encourage others to do the same and support businesses that prioritize sustainable packaging

B. Reflection

Based on joana’s resolution Taking action against rising sea levels isn’t just about what we do as individual it’s also about helping others understand the problem and work toward solutions together To make a real difference we need to keep learning, educating others and supporting big changes in our communities and beyond.

One of the best ways to do this is through education. People need to know why sea levels are rising, how it affects their lives, and what they can do to help. Schools, workplaces and community events can be great places to share this information Social media, local events and simple conversations with friends and family can also spread awareness.

Beyond education, we need to push for bigger changes Supporting leaders who care about the environment choosing businesses that use sustainable practices and speaking up for clean energy and strong environmental policies can create long-term impact. Working with environmental groups and communities can also make efforts stronger and more effective.

To protect our planet and future generations we need to keep learning, sharing, and taking action together Small steps add up and by inspiring others, we can make a bigger difference in fighting climate change

B. Another output for reflection

Most Practical Solutions:

One of the best ways to reduce plastic pollution is by using less plastic in daily life. Carrying a reusable water bottle, shopping bag and utensils helps cut down waste. Choosing products with less plastic packaging, recycling properly, and supporting businesses that use eco-friendly materials also make a big difference.

Encouraging Families and Communities:

Getting family and friends involved starts with setting a good example. Talking to them about why plastic pollution is harmful and sharing easy ways to reduce waste can encourage change. Organizing clean-up events in the neighborhood and using social media to spread awareness can also help more people take action.

Holding Businesses and Governments Accountable:

Businesses and governments need to do their part in reducing plastic waste. Supporting companies that use less plastic, signing petitions and reaching out to local leaders can push for better policies. Voting for rules that limit single-use plastics and joining environmental groups can also help create bigger change

C. Group activity

Adressing the plastic waste in boracay

3 practical solution

By bringing re usesable bag/ego bag reuse sable water bottle

Avoid using disposable utensils when odering take out bring/use your own instead to avoid platix utensils in the beach/ocean

Practicing proper waste segregation

The loss of biodiversity disrupts ecological balance and diminishes natural resources essential for human survival.

•WHY IT MATTERS

As ecosystems that supply food, medicine, and clean water become less flexible, biodiversity loss has an impact on people's health, livelihoods, and food security. Ecosystems are frustrated, natural defenses against climate change are weakened, carbon storage is decreased, and habitat loss becomes more rapid, all of which contribute to greater extreme weather and shortages of resources.

•MY COMMITMENT

By planting native plants and trees, which give local wildlife food and shelter, I can preserve the ecosystems in my area. Reducing back on waste, particularly single-use plastics, helps keep rivers, forests, and seas clean. Restoring natural ecosystems is also encouraged by taking part in preservation efforts and community clean-up campaigns. Soil and water quality can be maintained in gardens by using eco-friendly products and avoiding dangerous chemicals. Last but not least, encouraging regional farmers and companies that use sustainable methods lessens habitat loss and increases biodiversity.

The increased frequency and intensity of extreme weather events associated with climate change further exacerbate these problems.

My Commitment: I will reduce my carbon footprint by switching to renewable energy sources in my home and reducing my reliance on fossil fuel-powered transportation. I will also advocate for policies that support climate action and sustainable development.

B. INDIVIDUAL REFLECTION

• Which solutions are most practical? The practicality of climate solutions depends on various factors, including feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and societal acceptance. Where I live, we're seeing way more scorching hot days than ever before. It's not just uncomfortable; it's dangerous. Lots of people get sick or even die from the heat, especially older folks and kids. Plus, all the extra air conditioning we use to cope puts a huge strain on the power grid, sometimes causing blackouts.

Why it Matters:

Extreme heat is a serious threat to people's health. Heatstroke, breathing problems, and heart issues are all made worse by extreme heat. It's also really hard on the environment. Our plants and animals suffer, and we use up more water and energy trying to cool down.

My Commitment:

I'm going to do my part to cut down on greenhouse gases. I'll start by using less energy at home – things like using energy-efficient light bulbs and appliances, and trying to use less air conditioning.

This reflection really made me think about what I can do about climate change. It's a huge issue, and it can feel overwhelming.

What's practical?

I think the most practical solutions are a mix of individual actions and larger systemic changes. Things like reducing my energy use (using less AC, turning off lights) and recycling more are definitely doable. But we also need major changes from companies and the government – things like investing in renewable energy, improving public transportation, and making stricter pollution rules. It's about both personal responsibility and pushing for bigger changes.

How to get others involved?

I think leading by example is really important. If I start making changes and talk about them, my friends and family might be more interested in joining in. Community events and social media can help spread awareness too. It's all about showing that making a difference isn't that hard and that it can even be beneficial.

Holding people accountable:

This is where it gets tougher. We can support companies that are committed to sustainability and avoid those that aren't. Voting for politicians who take climate change seriously is also key. But we also need to demand transparency from companies and governments – we need to know what they're doing (or not doing) about pollution. And if they're not doing enough, we need to push for change, maybe even through legal action. It's a long-term effort, but we need to keep pushing for change.

The problem matters because it not only jeopardizes the natural habitats that countless species depend on but also endangers human health, food security, and economic stability. As a student, I recognize that every action counts, and I am committed to reducing my personal carbon footprint and raising awareness within my school and community. I will start by embracing sustainable practices such as minimizing waste, conserving energy, and opting for eco-friendly transportation. Additionally, I plan to participate in campus environmental clubs, volunteer for local reforestation initiatives, and use my voice to advocate for stronger environmental policies.

Climate change is rapidly destroying habitats across the globe by altering ecosystems, increasing the frequency of natural disasters, and causing irreversible damage to biodiversity. Practical solutions to mitigate these impacts include a robust transition to renewable energy sources, comprehensive reforestation projects, and the adoption of sustainable agricultural practices that reduce environmental degradation. To encourage my family and community to join this fight, I plan to lead by example sharing informative resources, organizing local workshops, and initiating community clean-up and tree-planting events that demonstrate the benefits of sustainable living. Holding businesses and governments accountable is equally critical; this can be achieved by supporting transparent policymaking, engaging in peaceful protests, and using consumer choices to favor companies with sustainable practices. Ultimately, combining these practical solutions with collective accountability will be essential in protecting natural habitats and ensuring a resilient future for all.

Problem: Increase sea levels

Increasing sea levels are a real concern. With the rise in temperature on Earth, ice sheets and glaciers melt, depositing water into oceans. Sea levels increase due to this, resulting in flooding, erosion, and loss to coastal ecosystems and communities.

Why it Matters:

Increasing sea levels have catastrophic implications for humans and the environment. Coastal populations are especially at risk, as rising waters can flood homes, businesses, and infrastructure. This can result in displacement, economic loss, and even death. Ecosystems are also threatened. Saltwater intrusion can pollute freshwater resources and damage coastal ecosystems such as mangroves and salt marshes, which are vital for shoreline protection and maintaining biodiversity. At the global level, sea-level rise can increase existing disparities, as poorer countries and marginalized groups tend to be most exposed to the effects of climate change.

My Commitment:

I will learn and teach others about the causes and effects of increasing sea levels. I will also take steps to minimize my carbon footprint, including using public transport, saving energy, and patronizing companies that are committed to sustainability. I will also push for policies that safeguard coastal communities and encourage climate resilience. This may include writing to elected representatives, engaging in peaceful demonstrations, or joining local environmental organizations.Last but not least, I will work on leading a more sustainable lifestyle by lowering the consumption of resources and being a responsible consumer about the goods and food that I consume.

In doing these steps, I want to help create a global action in combatting climate change and safeguarding our world for our future generations.

Problem:

~ A common climate issue in my local area is flooding during heavy rains, which is most likely caused by clogged skewers all around our area. This clogging is caused by irresponsible behaviour of individuals. People tend to throw their waste everywhere, without thinking of the consequences.

Why it matters:

Floods, as small as it sounds, can contribute to temperature changes and weather patterns as well as disrupting ocean water and freshwater systems which can lead to sea creatures to consume disease carrying plastics and other waste materials, sea creatures such as fishes, squids, crabs, which we all consume. This issue can lead to many unfortunate events as well, such as diseases like tetanus, health diseases such as dengue and, debris, broken glass, and sharp objects in floodwaters can lead to cuts, wounds, and infections, flooding can also cause molds in the environment's walls which can lead to respiratory diseases such as asthma, bronchitis and, pneumonia. Worst case scenario, it can lead to a death of an individual especially those with weaker systems.

My Commitment:

Flooding can be avoided by small gestures, my commitment would be to not be irresponsible in a sense that I will always throw my waste in the proper disposal and, from time to time, help my community to clean our skewers.

Keep in mind, small gestures can lead to bigger changes, suggestions towards our barangay leaders to implement systems like flood-resistant infrastructures can help a lot but not so easy to do, but taking chances is better than doing nothing.

A.	Problem: Polluted beaches (calaparan area)

Calaparan beach suffers because of waste pollution due to excessive plastic waste, untreated sewage and industrial discharge. Clogged waterways worsen flooding during heavy rains and typhoons. Contaminated waters causing health risks, leading to diseases such as cholera. The accumulation of garbage harms the marine life and destroys ecosystem. Weak waste management systems and poor law enforcement aggravate the problem, making long-term solutions difficult to implement.

Why it matters:

This pollution harms our marine life, leading to the deaths of our sea creatures because they consume or become entangled in plastic waste. Fish population and biodiversity are decreased when mangroves and coral reefs are destroyed, upsetting the bay’s ecology. Clogged streams exacerbate climate-related disasters, erode coastal lands and enhance flooding.

My Commitment:

I commit to educating others about the impact of waste pollution in Calaparan beach by raising awareness through discussions, social media advocacy, and community engagement. By sharing knowledge on proper waste disposal, recycling, and sustainable practices, I aim to inspire individuals to take responsibility for their environmental impact. I will also encourage schools, local organizations, and businesses to implement eco-friendly initiatives that contribute to the long-term restoration of Calaparan beach. Through continuous learning and active participation in cleanup drives and sustainability programs, I will help create a culture of environmental responsibility. But before all of these, we can all start from something small. By implementing — CLAYGO wherever we go.

However, the government can also be held accountable, afterall, it is their responsibility to maintain and organize their community, if climate issues just rises and never lessen then it means they have failed in maintaining a clean environment, the government has the utmost power in terms of rules and regulations, for a change, they should focus their attention to what the community truly needs.

Which solutions are most practical?

- Since we often have a flooding here in our country due to heavy i think most practical solution is cleaning our drainage/skewers, the best way to stop floods from clogged drains is to keep them clean. We can do this by taking out leaves, dirt, and trash regularly. Get our neighbors to help by cleaning up the area and not throwing things near the drains. Think about improving the drains by adding pipes with holes to help water flow better. Also, check and clean gutters and other drainage spots each season. Don't plant trees too close to drains, so their roots don't cause problems. If we all work together to keep drains clear, we can stop a lot of flooding.

How can you encourage your families and community to join these actions?

-To encourage my family and community to help clear clogged storm drains, i will begin by explaining why it is important to clean our drainage. Make them aware that clear drains help prevent flooding and keep our neighborhood safe from any sickness cause by flooding. I will organize a community cleanup event, providing the necessary supplies like gloves and trash bags. I will how everyone the proper way to safely clear the drains. And i will share the results of our efforts to show the positive impact of cleaning our drainage. If we work together, we can motivate everyone to participate in keeping our drains clear and preventing floods.

How can we hold businesses and government accountable for climate action?

- We must hold business and government organizations accountable if we want them to take action on climate change. We must demand that they are accountable for their environmental impact like the pollution they produce, and what steps they are taking to make a solution for it. Not only that, but we can also purchase products from eco-friendly companies while boycotting those that are harmful to the environment. Awareness and talking about it to others is also a form of action. Talk to our family and friends about the issues in our environment, and tell them to give awareness to politicians and businesses about their responsibilities in our city/country. Electing politician that cares in our environment is very important, and holding them accountable, is also important. We should also have a stricter rules for us to protect our environment and punish those who will not follow the rules. With these, we can make a government and businesses hold accountable for our country to address climate action.

A. INDIVIDUAL ACTION PLAN

Climate Action

Resolution Templates

• Problem:

Large-scale forest clearance, frequently for logging, urbanization, or agriculture, is known as deforestation. It causes environmental degradation, habitat devastation, biodiversity loss, and climate change. Tree removal disturbs ecosystems, raises carbon dioxide levels, and causes soil erosion. Reforestation initiatives, sustainable land management, and lowering dependency on forest resources are all part of stopping deforestation.

• Why it Matters:

People and the ecosystem suffer from deforestation in a number of ways. As many plants and animals lose their native habitats, biodiversity is lost. Ecosystems may be upset, and resources like food and medicine may become scarcer. By raising carbon dioxide levels, deforestation affects humans by causing climate change, which might result in harsh weather. Additionally, it results in soil erosion, which reduces the fertility of the ground and raises the possibility of landslides. Communities like farmers and indigenous tribes that depend on forests for their livelihoods also face social and economic challenges. Last but not least, deforestation may worsen the environment and human health by lowering the quality of the air and water supplies.

• My Commitment:

Reducing my use of paper and wood by choosing reusable alternatives and supporting items manufactured from sustainable materials is one thing I will personally do to help address the issue of deforestation. To aid in the restoration of destroyed woods, I will also promote tree-planting campaigns in my neighborhood.

B. INDIVIDUAL REFLECTION

Climate change is one of the most pressing issues of our time, affecting not only the environment but also the lives of people worldwide. The rising temperatures, extreme weather conditions, and natural disasters are clear signs that human activities, such as deforestation and pollution, have taken a toll on our planet.

As I reflect on this issue, I realize that climate change is not just a distant problem—it is happening now, and its effects are felt in our daily lives. The destruction of forests, the loss of biodiversity, and the increase in global temperatures serve as a wake-up call for all of us. It is easy to blame industries and governments, but the truth is, every individual has a role to play in protecting the

environment.

Since, Water is a basic need for life to develop and grow therefor conserving water to lessen the damages of drought will help protect and impact the environment. Aywenuz mentioned Soil degradation where the quality of the soil affects the environment around it and the lower the quality and lack of mineral within the soil will turn the land barren making life unable to grow, develop or exist where raising awareness and community effort will be effective on combating such cases. Jieda stated that plastic pollution is the most prominent issue the world is currently combating where it can directly affect the health of all living species. Where recycling and opting to use reusable bags and eco-friendly materials will lessen the impact of plastics to the environment. Lastly, according to Solomon Climate change is the major issue that the world is currently facing where it affects everyone and everything and his commitment to planting trees and reducing your carbon imprint will definitely produce positive effects.

Which solutions are most practical?

-The most practical solution is to raise awareness for combating climate change requires for everyone to act. Initiating clean-up drives will help reduce the impacts of plastic pollution in a community and as a student reducing my carbon imprint will be effective, in addition, opting to use recyclable and eco-friendly materials such as reusable bags. Zero-waster cups and metal straws will reduce the waste I produce when using single use plastics.

How can you encourage your families and communities to join these actions?

-I can encourage my family and communities by raising awareness and convincing them to start caring for the environment for it affects everyone.

A. Individual Action Plan:

Problem: why did climate change become an issue?

Climate change became a major issue because human activities, particularly the use of fossil fuels, have rapidly increased the concentration of greenhouse gases in the Earth's atmosphere, causing a noticeable rise in global temperatures and disrupting natural climate patterns, posing serious threats to ecosystems and human societies around the world. also Climate change has a wide range of effects on the environment, including rising temperatures, rising sea levels, drought, flooding, and more. These events have an impact on things we rely on and value, including water, electricity, transportation, wildlife, agriculture, ecosystems, and human health.

Why It matters?

- Climate change directly affects people by limiting their access to basic necessities such as food and water, causing extreme weather events such as floods and heatwaves, disrupting livelihoods, and exacerbating health risks, particularly in vulnerable areas, thereby reducing their quality of life and safety as weather patterns change and sea levels rise.

Population expansion, neoliberal economic policies, rapid economic growth, overconsumption, overexploitation, pollution, and deforestation are some of the human activities that cause global environmental degradation (either directly or indirectly).

My Commitment:

- You may help avoid climate change by reducing your energy consumption, modifying your mobility habits, and making more sustainable decisions.

Reduce energy consumption. Turn off appliances that are not in use. Insulate your home. Reduce your use of hot water, use long-lasting light bulbs, and consider installing solar panels or an air source heat pump.

The simplest approach to accomplish this is to plant new forests (afforestation) or restore existing ones (reforestation). Other improved land management methods, as well as new technology, can help by sucking CO2 out of the air ("direct air capture") or preventing it from escaping smokestacks ("carbon capture and storage").

An essay on ways to protect the environment can include points like reducing waste, conserving water, planting trees, using renewable energy, and avoiding single-use plastics. It should emphasise collective action to address global environmental issues.

FeedBack

-Aywen says here. Soil deterioration is a climate issue that is rarely addressed. It happens when soil quality deteriorates owing to human activities such intense farming, deforestation, and pollution. This process lowers the soil's capacity to promote plant development and retain water. It also depletes critical nutrients, rendering the soil less fruitful. If left neglected, soil degradation can result in food shortages and environmental damage.

Understanding this topic is critical since good soil is required for food production, water retention, and climate stability. If soil quality continues to deteriorate, it may result in food shortages and starvation. Degraded soil further exacerbates climate change by rendering land uninhabitable. Understanding this issue allows communities to assist prevent soil deterioration by planting trees and using less chemicals. Taking action now can help to avoid more damage and protect the environment for future generations.

Marguerite is referenced here. Severe droughts produce significant issues such as water scarcity, crop failure, and wildfires. They dehydrate the land, injure animals, and make it difficult for people to obtain food and clean water. Droughts can also cause health difficulties and drive households to relocate. Because climate change is exacerbating droughts, it's critical to discover strategies to conserve water while protecting the ecosystem.

Droughts damage both humans and the environment. Biodiversity loss impacts natural resources, ecosystems, and natural habitats for animals, plants, and humans. Deforestation, illicit fishing, coral bleaching, poaching, urbanisation, and pollution all contribute to biodiversity loss, which has an impact on the health, productivity, and livelihood of all living things. Furthermore, with an increase in biodiversity loss, the effects of climate change become more devastating, irrevocable, and permanent.

Which solutions are most practical?

-The most practical here is all countries should transition their economy away from fossil fuels as quickly as possible. Invest in green energy. The greatest method to phase out the use of fossil fuels is to transition to clean and renewable energy sources. These include technologies such as solar, wind, wave, tidal, and geothermal energy.

Morocco, for example, has eliminated all diesel and petrol subsidies to encourage people to use cleaner sources of energy. India aims to generate 40% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030; and Sweden has built 'eco-quarters' in its cities, converting old industrial sites into eco-friendly homes.

The greatest method to phase out the use of fossil fuels is to transition to clean and renewable energy sources. These include technologies such as solar, wind, wave, tidal, and geothermal energy. Change to sustainable transportation. Fossil fuels are used in petrol and diesel cars, as well as aeroplane’s and ships.

First and foremost, we must end all forms of deforestation.

FEEDBACK:

Jieda talked about plastic pollution and how it harms drainage, wildlife, and water. His plan to use reusable bags and join cleanups is a great way to help. JM focused on biodiversity loss caused by deforestation, pollution, and illegal hunting. His plan to support environmental programs and reduce his carbon footprint can help protect nature. Solomon explained how climate change, caused by human activities, leads to extreme weather and resource shortages. His plan to save energy, plant trees, and use eco-friendly tech is a strong solution.

Aywen discussed soil degradation and how it affects food and the environment. His commitment to raising awareness and educating others is a great step toward solving the problem.

REFLECTION:

Which solutions are most practical?

The most practical solution is conserving water. As a student, I can save water by doing simple things like taking shorter showers, turning off the tap while brushing my teeth, and using less water when cleaning. These small changes can help a lot, especially in places that struggle with water shortages. It’s an easy way I can do my part to help with droughts and protect the environment.

How can you encourage your families and communities to join these actions?

To encourage my family and community, I can start by showing them how to save water and reduce waste at home. INDIVIDUAL ACTION PLAN

Problem:
Deforestation in the Philippines, particularly in the Sierra Madre, due to illegal logging, urban expansion, and agriculture.

Why it Matters:
Deforestation leads to loss of biodiversity, increased carbon emissions, soil erosion, and worsens the impact of typhoons and floods. The Sierra Madre acts as a natural barrier against typhoons, and its destruction puts millions of people at risk of stronger storms and landslides.

My Commitment:
I will actively support reforestation programs by planting trees and promoting sustainable tree-planting initiatives. I will also reduce paper waste, spread awareness about deforestation on social media, and advocate for stricter enforcement of environmental protection laws.

B. INDIVIDUAL REFLECTION

1. Which solutions are most practical?
Reforestation projects, sustainable farming practices, and strict enforcement against illegal logging are among the most effective solutions. Education and awareness campaigns can also encourage more people to take action.

2. How can you encourage your families and communities to join these actions?
I can encourage my family to support organizations that focus on reforestation. We can also switch to digital documents instead of excessive paper use and participate in local tree-planting activities.

3. How can we hold businesses and government accountable for climate action?
We can support eco-friendly businesses and avoid products linked to deforestation. Petitioning for stronger environmental policies and stricter penalties for illegal logging can also pressure the government to take action.

Where you get to work in the system to get your project approved and follow guidelines.
2. By informing these issues and make the project beneficial to the community
3.
