My section in Fresno, C4 is a yellow area. I think it has affected the development because it said it was adjacent to a red area which negatively affected its development. There are some resources available, but there are a lot of poorly maintained roads and other things. I would say it’s still a yellow area, just moderate, not pristine but not horrible. I would like to see better road development and better attention to schools, because both of them are quite bad, in all forms of schooling from elementary up to high school. Knowledge of redlining would be useful when explaining why certain mathematical models that depict areas of Fresno are worse or better based on the numbers. Numbers can tell you the facts, but they can’t tell you the history of what happened or why the numbers exist. It will help explain modeling to the uninitiated. -Andrew Gray
