Topic: talking about real and made up actions using the verb to be.	Objective: manage correctly the verb to be in simple sentences, both in statements and questions, to describe people, places and daily situations, showing comprehension through speaking and writing activities.

Student’s level: (MCRE) A2	Target skill: the activity has an emphasis on productive skills as speaking and writing, but also listening and reading are worked

on.	Target vocabulary: the necessary vocabulary includes adjectives and nouns to describe characteristics.

-	Happy	- architect

-	Tall	- Beautiful

-	Teacher	- park

-	School	- musician

Student’s age: 11 -

14	Target gramar: the structure of the verb to be in present, as well as its use in affirmative, negative and interrogative

sentences.

Warm-up activity:

A song that includes the formation of the verb to be is chosen, this song must have a good rhythm that motivates the students and help them to internalize its use through the repetition of simple structures in a natural way, besides, music facilitates memorization and retention of information; this it will foster active participation and teamwork. In the development of the activity, they will test their prior knowledge recognizing all the verb formations that appear in the

lyric of the song with a correct contextualization.

Song: Billie Jean – Michael Jackson https://youtu.be/DKFS2tDsZRY?si=yf1N87laaMCyjBci

Main activities

Pre stage

•	Colorful posters are created with the different forms of the verb “to be”, including visual examples to explain them in a better way.

During stage

•	Three boxes will be presented, in one will be the pronouns, in another the verb “to be” with its positive, negative and interrogative form; and in the last one there will be the complements of the sentence. The students assemble the cards in an order that form a sentence and then read the sentences in loud voice to practice pronunciation.

Post stage

•	Encourage them to create a mini poster about themselves, using verb

“to be” in various contexts, this activity will be shared with all students in classroom. With this exercise, they will have a review of the grammatical structures and greater understanding when using them in their daily life and own context.

https://miniurl.cl/wdl5i7

https://wordwall.net/es/resource/79356835

Practice or Assessment

In this evaluation activity, students will create three brief descriptions about something they are passionate about, such

as an activity, person, place, or object. They will be encouraged to effectively use the verb "to be" in its various forms, allowing them to communicate characteristics and states. After writing their texts, they will share them with the class, promoting interaction and the exchange of ideas. By reading their texts and providing a brief explanation of each one, students will practice both oral expression and active listening, thereby reinforcing their confidence in using English in everyday situations. This dynamic will help them internalize the content meaningfully and connect their

learning to their own experiences.

Closure

The activity "True or False" will be conducted using the forms of the verb "to be." In this activity, they will receive a series of statements and will have to decide whether they are true or false based on what they have learned about the structure of the verb. This dynamic will not only reinforce their grammatical understanding but also encourage active participation and the use of vocabulary in real contexts.

https://es.educaplay.com/recursos-educativos/20651498- verb_to_be_present_tense_challenge.html
