Hi Robert, How are things for you? Did you have a nice break?

 

On May 13^th, the kids will have their zoom meeting for the first time. Our boys are very excited for it.

We can zoom at any time from 10 am to 3 pm. Please let me know what time works best for you.

I’m thinking that on that day we can give the students a short mission about culture or something for the groups to solve together to prompt them to have more discussions. So, the meeting can potentially go like this:

(If you have anything else to prepare for the first meeting on May 13^th, please let me know.)

 

On that day, the native English teacher Taylor Lafitte and I will be leading the meeting with you. There will be other Korean English teachers in the room and some of our G1 students will come to observe. We, Taylor and I, would like to meet on zoom to prepare for the meetings in advance. Any time that is available for you we can work with, since we can stay later in the day to meet with you. 

When it comes to our trade project, I’m thinking that it will be easier to discuss the process and what we should expect from the students over a zoom meeting.

I have really enjoyed taking time to have a good look through your padlet.  I like the way each student gives a little bit of information about Korea, food, your city, school etc.

I am looking forward to sharing properly with my own students. 

I am sorry I did not do my padlets in the best possible way but will make sure students on April 26 (our first day back) embed their videos into their individual padlets. We will then send links.

 

It has been a frantic term 1. Nice to be on a holiday now.

I just want to clarify that when you said the kids made their own padlets, you mean they made padlet accounts, right? Not a whole new padlet room?

 

Also, if you give me the email address you used to set up the Padlet, then I can make you a coordinator for the padlet ( https://padlet.com/jhy2625/qow3nsp5hwma9fnr ).

The coordinators can edit and make a new category with names indicated. And the kids can only write sth on the padlet.  

I made a new category for your kids to be able to upload their introduction ppt.

Thanks so much for all of this.  My students have all done individual padlets and uploaded videos to their padlets.  We have some issues with the uploading but will get there.  We are on holidays from tomorrow and return to school April 25.
I have submitted an application for my students to come out of their classes on May 13 and we look forward to meeting you all at 11.10am KST.  This is 12.10pm in Melbourne.  

We can discuss the set up of Zooms etc in the near future. Really looking forward to this.

I mentioned in the previous email (3/18) that the club meeting is on March 25th. Since we are unable to meet on this day, I'll go ahead and send you our club schedule for the whole year. 
The next club meetings are:

This is just a rough schedule. Our school schedule can change sometimes, but I will let you know if there are any major changes that will affect our meeting.
I understand that it is difficult to arrange a meeting time. If possible, I'd like to get the introductions done as soon as possible.
If it is not possible by the end of April, then perhaps we could upload introduction materials onto a shared platform like Padlet? So then the kids can look over it in their free time. I will attach the link below(1). Our kids have created and uploaded their own Introduction PPT  for each group on the padlet. You and your kids can upload materials on this padlet without making an account but the names are shown as anonymous. So it will be okay if only the teacher makes an account.
We also made groups to match with your kids. Here are our groups and their contact info, in case your kids would like to be e-pals at some point(2).
Note: I wrote their names in the English alphabet next to their Korean names. So I wrote it as they did: last name first name. And I also attached the rough plan for this semester(3). If you have any good ideas about it further, let me know at any time. Thanks.
