Looking back, we remember the enthusiasm with our students have worked to be protagonists of the change that our planet was crying out. They have been able to detect these problems in their schools, in their lives, also to look for solutions to contribute to a better world, starting with their closer environment. However, we never imagined that a pandemics would paralyze the world and would restore the balance that nature needed. Crystal clear water, animals walking free and clean air. Ecosystems have told us how necessary it is to take care of the environment and the sustainable economy.

The project has given us the tools to be agents of change and the pandemic, has given us more reason to continue fighting. That will be the legacy that "Power of Youth" will leave us forever. Thanks a lot.

Together, they chose to share out tasks : design, schedule, communication, in order to make their school a better place. Slowly, they became aware of possible, positive improvements. Change, they changed : I noticed they were suddenly able to write formal letters to Headmistress and officials to ask permission to set up compost bins at the school restaurant, to present the project to their fellow students, to stand up for their ideas. They showed us how powerful they were, all together, Power of Youth. But then,  came the time to make a 2 months pause, I nearly lost them... During our open day, everyone appreciated the products made with recycled objects. Pupils were excited to distribute the calendar with messages for nature; the garden for butterflies; the new containers for waste ; an installation etc. In September we will start where we left off.  During the pandemic time this project has grown further : 
help children with art,music and collaboration tools to face the lockdown; they reflect about planet and how beatiful life is.

From the beginning, I thought that this project could be very interesting for them since it is easy to understand, what is right or wrong in everything around them. And above all, how to contribute to being agents of change, for that nearby environment to be more sustainable. Little by little they came to understand what sustainability is, how they could contribute to making a center more sustainable. They started with fun activities such as cleaning the patio once a week, organizing each waste in its corresponding container, to go through being video programmers who were broadcast in the center on responsible behaviors with the environment, in addition, they were taught a reused material of undone to make bags, take care of the garden the institute, ... Above all I have seen that these students enjoy and learn with this type of project and that they have learned without hardly realizing it.

The project had a clear view of the objective and this objective was to get my students more actively involved in environmental issues. The choice of the tasks was so varied that every student could find a task he/she would be able to perform. My students have become familiar with many applications, got to know many passionate contemporaries and I could get to know many passionate and wonderful colleagues. We had the pleasure to be part of those so challenging and interesting tasks that leaded our students to another way of thinking by searching, critically analysing, creating and finally feel more ready for been active.
When Corona virus came to our lives students (as we all) noticed that environment was becoming better day by day (cleaner sky, more birds, smell of nature,etc) and understood that if we want everything could be change for our planet. 
I wish we never forget all these developed and continue being active!
