It works like an online sheet of paper where people can put any content (e.g. images, videos, documents, text) anywhere on the page, together with anyone, from any device.

1. Is Co-use (social elements/collaboration) built into the tool or do you have to create structures for it?
-After creating the Padlet, you are able to control the privacy of who sees it. If you share the link with your students, they are all able to post and comment freely. Whoever has the link is able to do this, so this collaborative tool is great for sharing between teachers and students, students in one class, and students across the grade level!

2. Is it focused on time-on task or how can you create time-on task focus?
-Finding topics that are interesting to students and engaging students by hands on activities.

1. Can the technology tool aid students in developing or demonstrating a more sophisticated understanding of the content? (creates opportunities for creation/production & other higher-order thinking skills over consumption)

-There are several ways to use Padlet. Some of the methods are not particularly effective, others can facilitate this kind of learning. Activities that allow each student to present their ideas or work facilitate creativity. Story mapping and identifying key ideas are much higher order thinking.

2. Can the technology create scaffolds to make it easier to understand concepts or ideas? (in particular to help differentiate or personalize learning)
-This tool provides to opportunity to differentiate student projects. You can assign each student, or group of students, a different project to meet their ability level or interest.

3. Can the technology create paths for students to demonstrate their understanding of the learning goals in a way that they could not do with traditional tools?
-These goals could all be achieved with large sticky notes or individualized printed guidelines.

1. Can the technology create opportunities for students to learn outside of their typical school day?

-Yes. Because students are able to interact with each other and invite others to engage together. For example, for the European Day of Languages we asked as many people as we knew to add a greeting in their own languages, and they can see every posts on the wall. Also outside of the classroom, it is easily accessible for teachers to share Padlets among other classrooms, even across the world with different pen pals!

2. Can the technology allow students to build skills, that they can use in their everyday lives?
Padlet allows students to be able to build skills regarding brainstorming and organizing ideas. This is something that a student will use when they are making decisions within their everyday lives.
