In this article it is stated that "Some 44,000 thunderstorms rage worldwide each day, delivering as many as 100 lightning bolts to the ground every second."When the lightning hits the ground it send a charge into the Earth. They say in this article basically when it hits the ground that basically it recharges the Earths battery.

This Photograph above is a beautiful and wonderful example of how random and beautiful lightning can be. This photograph could be considered as a single shot, but in many skeptics minds it is in reality a continuous open shutter which means that it can stay focused on a tri-pod and remain open for hour or days, depending on the battery. I personally think that is a wonderful once shot a quick shutter speed. I can not explain why I find this picture so breathe taking but it is actually amazing to see it.

The reason that I chose to include this picture is because of the fact that it is another weird theory. Many people say that lightning occurs only when its hot and dry out, but others who are not so skeptic believe that there is always more then one answer to any question.

So for this website, I chose to do something a litttle different, I chose a blog as aposed to another site. In this blog, the blogger has his/ her own views on the mystery of lightning. In everyones eyes, the mystery of lightning is different. The blogger in this case is focusing on the electrical discharge of thunder and lightning as a whole.

Toronto Lightning Storm

Here is an exaple of how horrible a lightning storm can be. This example is a very good video and pictures of a lightning storm that occured right in my hometown. On August 24th 2011, there was a massive lightning storm that occurs. It was amazing to see how the city went completely dark one second and turn to being completely lit up the next. Some of the Lightning looks like trees and branchs and are massive and span larger then the view of the camera lense.

Within all these videos that I chose to use on my wall I picked them based on various things. Location was a main component when it came to picking my videos. This video is from UK and it is the most recent in the sting of videos that I went through. I chose this video to show that even though they are in different parts of the world you can see the similarities and differences in the videos. I personally found this video to be my favourite for various reasons. One it has the option to be the most mysterious because of the location of where the video was taken in. It being in a different country makes it more mysterious to me anyways. The farther away something is the more interesting it is. This video has the air of mystery, to be either real or completely a hoax. But unless we were there we will never know.

For my final link I chose to use was a scientific link more so based towards children and young adults. This link shows the scientific method for how lighting is actually produced in an easy to understand scientific way. It simply explains how it occurs. It is basically restating the facts that we learned in grade three science.

As an added link I chose to try and open you mind to another option the option I have chosen to write about is the Greek Myth about how when Zeus was mad or angry with the mortals he would throw lightning bolts down as a warning. This is a myth that I would love to look in to further.
